I started out with the stock hubs in the rear which are I think the 4 toe and I gotta say that the traction was great but low on speed so I changed it to 3, adjusted the camber and adjusted my servoe because It was very glitchie with the speed on it. After I got it to my liking the car still was a second slower than my TC3, which I have dialed in so I adjusted the drive train then I was spinning out on my left turs which I was acually doing doughnuts on hi speed L.H. turns. I couldent figure out what to do because their werent anny cuda bros. out to help me out with it so I didnt want to rush the car so I didnt race it that night. I think Im gonna give it to my buddy Alex to rebuild it for me cause I really dont understand the car yet. Im running the center 1 way along with the 1 way 5 ride height all around along with 5 caster all around and still got some scratches on the bottom rear. I like the traction on the car but must figure out how to get fast with it. I know it has alot of potentual so looking forward to Sat. Im gonna keep this car for stock only so Im gonna need a good stock setup. Im only running rear sways because I do that with all my cars seems to get better steering. It seemed like I was losing steering as I was driving it more and more. Oh well Ill keep you guys posted as I go along.
Just bring it Tuesday, there will be some R2 drivers there to help you out...

Are the tracks open for practice during the week?

dude, its not the car anymore. its the batteries... I suggest you go get some Fukuyama Cells because you're running against them in Sportsman I'm pretty sure..

Definately the Batteries
Batteries 40%
Car 10%
Driver 50 %

I did about 8hr of practice time on Sat. in tripple digit weather. had the Web dialed and was on rails. I used the Yok. shock caps w/bladders per KO's suggested...the shocks definately felt alot better in the outer-most position... Per JDM... Rayspeed Red in front and White springs in the Rear. 1.0 sway bars in front. everyone commented how fast the car cornered. A few asked on where they can get one... I just told them... " you can't no more Orange available. "

Cool, I do drive 100 miles to get to the track, but I can't stand racing outdoors, it's always hot out here. I'll only do outdoor events at big races mostly..

I don't know if I'd drive a 100 miles for indoors during the summer. It's hot here in the summer too...a lot of humidity. We start indoors nov. 1st thru may.

I make the drive no matter what season, SoCal is a really nice track, and I dont get a sunburn every time I race.

The Barracuda looks certainly looks like a nicely engineered car, sort of like a shaft drive equivalent to the Xray.

However, I'm puzzled. Why is the motor on the wrong side of the car?

The TC3/SD/Pro4 chassis all put the motor on the other side for a good reason. The weight of the batteries down the left side of the chassis help counteract the torque reaction from the motor. With the Barracuda, it would appear as though the opposite would occur - ie the torque reaction of the motor would work in the direction of the batteries (ie the heavier side of the car).

Someone, please explain the logic behind why Alex Racing has chosen to use this configuration on a car that otherwise looks so sweet and close to perfection.

Honestly I never noticed any torque steer with the car, I dont think the motor was put on the wrong side.

The armature actually turns away from the batteries with this setup...
