Guys, I kinda agree with RedBull here, can we take vote on which one to keep? I think it will be better just to keep one so we don't miss anything. Do you guys agree? Type 1 for this thread or 2 for the original thread.

I say we keep both thrreads, the original is where you talk about anything cuda, the newer one is more around Speedtech where you can ask Steve shop related questions. Makes sense to keep the commercial side seperate

now it's time for me to get some sleep, it's 5am and I'm meant to wake up at around 7.15am to get ready to drive 90miles to Carlisle so I can try my Cuda outside on their permanent race track. I don't think Zombies drive that well

Well Dave, if you don't have a problem posting on both, then I'm sure as heck that I don't. You will be the one doing most of the juggling of the two threads anyways. Then two threads it is!! The more the merrier!

Hi Guys,

With Dave's help, i finally figured out the spring rates and how to identify the tension. I actually think the reason why they are not color coded is because you would basically run out of colors. Right now, there are 17 (thats' right 17!!!) different tensions of springs in the shop. Alex Racing definitely got you covered when it comes to tuning their cars

I'll have the springs available online soon, and a rough explanation on what the numbers mean on the springs. I'll also list where the stock springs fall in relation to the other springs, so you guys can have an idea on which direction to go for tuning.

I too thought about how to manage the springs once they are opened out of the package. First is obviously not to have more than one set laying around on the table. Second, I was thinking a plastic parts container (or a fishing tackle box) will work. Label each compartment in the container and keep the springs in their individual comparments. When all else fails, you can always measure the spring diameter with a caliper and count the coils (the springs differ in diameter of the wire and how many coils per spring, for example 1.4 5.25 means 1.4mm diameter [email protected] coils)

It'll be easy once you get used to it

Glad that you'll be able to do a comparison with other springs Steve

Default Std spring rate

If I am looking at this correctly looks like the kit springs fall in the middle of the chart for 1.4 mm coils (1.4 x 6.00 = 266 gm/mm)

Yep they sure are

But I find that the rates closer to 300 are better for the car
