Default Battery posts

I tried using the bottom xray battery posts with 3mm hex screws. The height seems just about right, but you have to use the opposite holes and flip the R2 battery strap. The plastic strap is a little soft and I thought maybe the batts would come loose in a hard crash, so I went back to taping. The Aluminum strap might work better, but I don't have one and Speedtech is out of them. Anyone want to try this?

A mod I'm considering is getting the Tobee Craft Cell separator for the Yok SD. Basically these mount near the edge of the chassis and would prevent the batts from falling out.

You should be able to find the fiberglass strapping tape at any local hardware/shipping store, cheap.

Default Cell Tape

If your going to tape, do it right....
Tamiya Glass Tape (Black) Item 49106

They used to have Blue, and red tape, now all they have is the black stuff. The Tamiya tape is thicker than what you will find in most hardware stores, Most of us run one piece all day, so its durable too. make sure you round the edges a little on the chassis where the tape bends around it

May I ask where you bought those tapes? I couldn't find any at LHS. I must admit those are really nice and excellent to work with.

Rod told me that Tamiya discontinued their strapping tape, and of coarse, he bought like 5 of the last rolls

Hopefully Steve can get that stuff, I like the black tape, but the Tamiya stuff was gone before I learned about it...

That stuff is gold If you were standing there and they said, by the way, we only have so many left, you'd buy some too, besides I didn't buy the last ones...there were like 17 rolls left. I just liberated a few of them so that I have an ample supply while looking/waiting for a substitue.

That xenon stuff sounds interesting though

I have never really used Strapping tape that much. Is it a one-time use type of thing? Or can you use the same piece for an entire day?

Took cuda out to race today did rather well, got better with each heat. Turned a 19 in the first one, did a 20 in the second. 21 in the third

they combined times so I qualified 2nd. They desided to go with a AAA main set up, loads of fun I must say, I came in third after it was done.
A lot of people never even heard of the car, had a lot of looky loo's
Ask me where the could get one, I pointed at my Speed tech T shirt I was wearing "Thanks Steve"

I do have a technical question, seems that the spur gear is taking a beating, even running stock motors.
Is the PAL drive system the best fix or would the aluminum shaft holder?

I run standard 72 spur and 48 pich pinions.

Many thanks are appreciated
