a 2mm Allen wrench
some side cutters or knife for trimming parts from sprues
nut driver for wheels
just the usual stuff.

The R2 has been out for several months now and should be around for a long time, the original R1 was out for a long time before that. There has been a special edition Web version in orange but thats just a highly hopped up R2. The Speedway PAL editions are just variations of the R1 and soon R2 made by a different company, they are a slightly different sppraoch to the Barracuda and run along side the original Barracuda versions life span.
