Thanks. I think I'm going to get a spool anyway from Steve since he has them buy one get one free. Can't wait to get my kit. If it is anything like the BD I had it should be great. Glad to be back in onroad.

Sorry about that Nismo! It was early and I didn't see that there wasn't a conversion infront of KIT. BTW there is another local using the BD and he said it looked really good. I just love the lack of belt slap with a SD.

Ok, I've been doing some research on this and I just need some clarification. Most of what I've read here seem to indicate that the blue springs are 10.45 but another reliable source tells me that it is 12.12 I just need to know which is sure since it makes a world of difference for me whether or not I will end up putting it in the front or rear. There are some differences in the two charts I have and I wanted to what people geberally follow and is more accurate. Thanks! Here's the spring rate chart that he gave me:

Quote:
There are actually 2 versions of the spring rates floating around in the SD and BD threads on rctech.net. The 'original' one below was compiled by Ling Kang Tong, a fellow racer (an MIT grad who currently works in a lab at a bio company.) He happened to have access to a very accurate spring tester. His list is probably the more widely referenced list.

Although I'm not sure why the Yokomo Blue came out softer than the White on his list...

Spring Rates(lbs. / sq.in)

Hi,

perhaps some of you read in the BD thread and have seen that I will make a thicker carpet chassis for the BD.
I just want to ask you guys whether you are interested in one for the LCG aswell? I will make one for mine for sure but haven't made any drawings yet.
What are your expectations towards a new chassis?
I expect the chassis to be in the same price region as the Yokomo chassis (BD chassis is 85$)...

Cheers
Chris

Steve at speedtechrc.com was looking into having a chassis made for the LCG. There is definitely interest in the chassis. A number of guys expressed interest. You should post an entry on the LCG thread to Speedtechrc to see where he stands. I got the impression it may be a while before they could work on the LCG chassis.

Speedy...three questions about your chassis. 1) are they hand cut or machine cut? 2) what grade of graphite are you using (Component or Quasi grade) 3) would the chassis be just a thicker version of the stock chassis or will you are be making design changes as well?

I've driven both with the same set-ups and I like my LCG better only because of the throttle snap out of the corner. Other than that I think they are about the same. I have however managed to get a lap in the 6sec range vs the 8 I was running before the LCG conversion. Now if I can get more consistant it will be on!

what??? a lap in the 6 second range... a 6 second lap how small is the track you are on? yeah only reason i ask this question is cause i have only had one shaft car in all the time racing & i thought it sucked. no it was not a yokomo. i beleive from what people are saying that the lcg is one of the only shaft cars that does not suffer from torque steer. is this true?

Default torque steer

You're correct,
I've compared the LCG to other shafties, and it was the only one to run straight as an arrow, uber easy to set up same as the BD.

Hi,

@DOTMAN: The chassis are machined on a CNC mill. The carbon will be component because I think it is stiff enough.
I thought about 3mm but any other thickness is possible aswell. I have to look closer at the chassis to see what I can change but I think I will leave out some cut outs and try to make the chassis a few millimeters narrower.

Cheers
Chris
