" I would hope that Yokomo would offer the covers free to those who purchased the conversion. Listening Yokomo? "

I'm as much as a YOKOMO fan as the next guy, but if that's the case that yokomo will offer to give an update for free to a kit that came out with would be ludacris & if that happens. They owe as far back as my Yr-4 with the with bulk heads.

I am in the market for a new car. Our local track is a tight small carpet track. So I have a few questions.

1. Are there any plans for yokomo to release the lcg as a complete kit?

2. If it is not, which kit would you get to update at a later date?

3. What is the diference between the three SD kits?

Thanks

1. Yes, should be available very soon

3. Well, the SSG and SD Black Special were the first SD's released. Their chassis are made of woven graphite and they have an upper deck. Then came the CGM which is similar to the SSG and Black Special except that it has a carbon graphite tub chassis and no upper deck. The LCG is the newest SD, which is similar to the Worlds kit. It has an improved steering system, open diffs and a lowered drivetrain. The CGM would be best for carpet with foams as it is very stiff, and you can get them for some great prices. The LCG flexes a lot and was designed for asphalt, and is the best for carpet with rubber tyres. If you buy a CGM you can always upgrade it to the LCG later as well. Hope this is useful!

Thanks for the reply's. Now I have a few more questions, and I will be running foams on carpet with a stock motor.

1. Does the cgm come with graphite arms, bulkheads, ets?

2. What hop-ups would you recomend for the cgm?

3. Should I just wait for the lcg, and do you know when it will be released?

4. Does BMI make a stiffer carbon fiber chassis set for the BD?

5. Do the arms, hub carriers, etc interchange between the cgm and ssg, and are they all graphite molded?

1. Yes

2. The light weight TI king pins, Carbon Fiber center shaft or the Tobee lightweight center shaft. Their are a lot of other items, like the Rayspeed sway-bar set.

3. You could wait for the lcg, but the CGM is a lot stiffer for carpet racing.

4. No BMI does not make one yet for the BD.

5. Arms, hub carriers are interchangeable and are available in plastic and graphite composite. The heavy duty arms for the car are a lot beefier than the standard arms.

1. Yes, all CGM parts are graphite as far as i remembered.
2. All lightweight parts are very recommended for every racing cars. CGM is strong enough but for additional safety reason, front wide bumper and new stronger arm are very good
3. Its already released.
4. -
5. I think CGM is the only kit which has all graphite parts. SD SSG, SD Black, SDW only plastic. Dunno about BD and LCG

Tried the LCG in carpet racing.... well... all i can say is...
it hoooook up way too much .... i actaully traction roll sometimes...
i can see my inside wheel lift.... prob. is because of my setting..
but i think it is also the chassis flex a bit more... it gives me more traction..

Are you racing with rubbers or foams? You might be able to take a few of the HPI center braces and make them fit on the LCG. That should greatly stiffen up the car.

Yokomo USA only brought in the conversion kit, they have held off on the first kit and are bringing in the newest LCG kit with the new diff covers in the next couple of weeks.
