This Yokomo SD thread has more post than any other thread in the on-road forum I think that says something about the support Yokomo has and the willingness of the guys to help each other.

I've got a Yokomo DriftPackage coming to me via trade. I was thinking of upgrading it to make it my race car since I already have an old factory tc3 that I use for drifting. I have an opportunity to buy a black chassis upgrade from someone. Can I use this to upgrade my Yokomo DriftPackage? Also, will a TC3 Front One-Way work in the Yokomo SD? Thanks...

I wouldn't go crazy upgrading the drift car, it's spec is quite low so even if you got an upgrade "package" you would still be short of the spec of one of the many "Special" cars. Cheaper in the long run to get a top spec car in the first place.

Probably the best thing to do with it for on-road racing is to fit some proper tyres, convert the shocks to oil filled, and replace any bushings with bearings (I think the drift car has a few bushings in it, may be wrong though). Then you will have a plastic version of the CGM and it should be fairly competitive.

TC3 one way will not fit.

Yes, that is one of the prototypes of the new 4wd buggy, the production model will have new shocks and redesigned suspension components that are lighter but just as stiff.

They use to sell off of e-bay. Go to their web site and hit the shop button, everything is done via e-mail. Or you can contact them at this e-mail

Thanks for the tip! I'll keep that in mind. I already have an extra set of TC3 oil filled threaded shocks and bearings for the MR4TC shouldn't cost too much. If I were to upgrade it with the black chassis, what other things would be lacking that need upgrading? Wouldn't the black chassis upgrade package include all the necessary aluminum parts? Thanks...

You must run on an untreated track. I blow off my outdoor track before running my LCG. It keeps rocks from getting in. Also, I lost a few diff gears in the first initial runs, then learned how to clean the track, and haven't had a problem since.

Default LCG Diff Covers

I will answer my own question! The diff covers for the LCG will be available within the next 2 weeks here in California. They are made of plastic and not aluminum as I expected. Considering I bought the conversion kit before the full LCG kit ,I would hope that Yokomo would offer the covers free to those who purchased the conversion. Listening Yokomo? Its the least they could do for there loyal customers, hint, hint!
