Use TAMIYA anti wear grease!!! I'm using the speedtech spool also, and you are correct about it being heavy and it being able to carry momentum into the corners!!! I tried the standard diff converted into a spool, the speedtech is better when cornering or when going into a corner!!
Peace!!!!!

I have a YRX12 Worlds. If that is what you are refering...Than yes...I am going to sell it soon anyway...No time with two classes of TC and during the off season I will race two classes of off road...so no time for 12th scale....Let me know if you would like either the 12th or the LCG.....I have a buyer for the LCG but I have to wait till end of august...He knows that I might sell it before then. SO MY LCG is still available...$365.00 shipped this is a complete car with upgrades..including Ceramics and square, Susuki drive cups, Rayspeed rear cvds.

i didn't know you had so much into it. i was offering to trade you my sdw for the lcg and 1 1/2 but that even sounds silly to me now. pm me when you decide to sell the 1/12 i probably will take it RTR minus motor unless you need something out of it

Default BD Solid Axle for SDW?

Hi,
Anybody ever used Yokomo MR-4TC BD Front Solid Axle (item BD 501SAS) on SDW or any SD car chassis? On the picture, it look that the spool is adaptable to SD cars by changing the pulley with bevel gear.
Your knowledge for this is really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Speedtech makes a steel spool for the SD. They make a different one for the BD, which means that they most likely can't be switched.

What's the difference between those two spools? In which sizes does they differ from each other?

Cheers

Trust me, the SD spool will not fit properly into the SD. The bevel gear has a different offset than the pully gear.

Now that's definitely not good to hear

As Agower has said, I'm using a Fastrax spool in mine and it fits, also seen a TiR 1 fitted. Just having looked at my car it lines up fine. Unless the Speedtech spool mounts the gear in some odd "American" way I can't see the problem. The only difference is that I had to take all the shims to get some endfloat, no biggy.

Think about this:

Speedtech sells a BD spool and a SD spool. They are seperate part numbers. They even look different. So if the SD spool could fit in the BD, then why would speedtech do this? They label all interchangable parts as SD/BD like the arms, hingepins, dogbones, ect...

Speedtech spools are different (BD and SD), but you can make a spool from a Yoke diff. Another brand of spool could be made like the Yoke diffs and they could (maybe) be inter-changable with both cars.
