Last year a few pics of the AEAST V1.3 chassis were posted to the web. This was a carbon tub chassis that proved to be very popular in the UK and was a convicing winner of the BRCA Stock National Champioships and the Southern Touring Car Championship series.

A season of racing the chassis gave designner Andy East a great basis on what changes should be made in order to make a quick car that little bit quicker.

We have been testing the AE2005 chassis throughout the winter months and have found the car to exceed its predessor in every aspect.

Take a look at the doc below and see what you think!!

Enjoy
Chris
Looks interesting... I better start padding the wallet

i put some epoxy (grey) to help flatten the area that contacts with hub to help reduce the threads from cutting into the hubs
But i've tried without the epoxy and it works well also.

well I'm pretty sure Mrs.Howard is thinking "she's got her eyes on something as well, depending on how much of the tax returns the husband spends"

Yea that chassis is sweet but can you tell your wife well I need a $300 chassis because well......................Well I just do....LOL as you get that funny feeling a smack to the back of your head is coming....
I think I wil pass and get the Rayspeed V2 should be out in a couple months. If they stay nearly in the same ball park as the past one it will be Half that of $300 killer sweet chassis....Man could someone from the US come up with that, you know it would be cheaper to do things here....LOL I bet some Carbon Fiber Manufacturer is drooling to get there hands on a project like this....J/K that chassis looks as it belongs in an art gallery, not my local Hackfest Parking lot track....
Hope everyone is doing well this week.

Besides buying the lightweight tub has anyone attempted milling out the CGM tub to try and shed a few more ounces off the car?

I wouldnt recomment that; chassie is soft/flexy to begin with -- looking to lose weight change the screws to aluminum and the turnbuckles alum (tamiya sell alum turnbuckles). i found the car better with the more weight i added,...

ps, if the best yokomo driver adds weight to his car it must be for a reason, so why take weight away?

I'm not going to try and beat that even though everything on my wishlist comes to well over $1200... I wanna keep my wife .
I'll have to narrow down the list considerably and save for the rest
