Matt- I email Yokomo tech on this and I bet they get swamped with emails...so wanted to ask you here. You have given me great info on the 12th Scaler and wanted to ask you about the different chassis for the car. I am running the stock worlds silver chassis now. I see on the website that they list a High bite chassis for the 12th scale. Would you have an info on that? Direct replacement for the worlds chassis? Recommend Upgrade?

The car has been awsome. Was really worried about it on carpet but it has done very very well....and it is cool to have the only one at the track.

Thanks again

Jeff Werner

Hi guys...

I, too, have a Worlds Kit on Pre-Order. Last time we talked to Yokomo, which was almost 3 weeks ago, they only had 17 cars left for order. I am sure that is all gone. Then again, I didn't make the call. I am only going off of what someone else said.

And Matt, how the heck are ya? You should remember me from running with you at Englishtown ( American Raceway ). Back in the days when you ran for XIPP. LOL. Now that is a while ago.

Later,

Jason Schreffler

Oh I remember you, we had some good battles at that little carpet track in pennsylvania. I forget the name of it but it was upstairs of a furniture store and they had all the racing memorabilia hanging all over the place.

I honestly don't know but it should be direct replacement since all the yok 1/12 cars are pretty much the same (12l3 based). I'm not going to say that you need the new chassis but a stiffer chassis is "usually" better on carpet. If the car is running good now I personally would just leave it alone.

Matt that was Lugnutt!!!! I remember watching you and Gene lay it down! Hawkes was blazing too. It was like watching slot cars. I never relized how many talented racers there were and stll are in our area.

I wouldn't be so sure on yokomo making more than the 555 kits. They want to keep this strictly as a limited edition kit and not one to replace their standard SD's. Out of the 555 kits worldwide, yokomo usa is only getting 65 This car will more than likely be a real collectors piece

Matt,
Do you have any idea if they are somewhat "serial numbered" from 1 to 555?

I asked that very question today and they don't know. It would be neat if they did that but we'll have to wait and see.

I just got off the phone with Robert Itoh at yokomo usa and he said there's only 555 kits and they're only getting 65 of those.

Ok I checked and here is the post he made.
Just repeating what was said. Not Causing rumors here.

"forty6,

They actually up the production to 655, however, it is still all sold out. We are currently checking with our pre-order customers for confirmation, simply because there is a chance we might not receive enough to cover our pre-orders. I would just put in a pre-order if you're interested in getting one, you never know, you might end up with one

if they do make some more then that's cool, I just don't want people thinking that everyone is going to be able to get one.

Definantly not Matt.
The SD WOrlds is diamond. Not only are they rare, but even sold out. I would fare to guess that you won't be finding these On Ebay for less than $600. I personaly won't get one. I had the opportunity and passed. I feel I like how things are going with the Rayspeed for where and what I race. The worlds kit would be overkill. I also don't need anymore Eye Candy.
I do hopw that the next SD will include some of the design points.
Thanks,
Stephen <><

Hi Guys,

Didn't mean to stir up anything here with my post, just posting information that I gather. The extra quantities were for the Japanese market as they were oversold in Japan. I think Matt's number is pretty accurate on just how many we are receiving in the US.

We should be receiving this car kit next week as some of you have already been receiving confirmation emails

Steve Wang
