Not if you tighten the screw home. Careful not to overtighten, remember you are working in plastic. Just screw them well home.

You need a 2mm allen driver for almost every screw in the car.

The only exceptions I can think of are the small phillips head screws that hold the hinge pins in place (use a #1 phillips), the motor screws (ball end 2.5mm driver supplied already) and a few small grub screws (which I think are 1.5mm).

Any quality tool will do - I have RPM and Wiha metric allen drivers in my pit box.

Hey guys I have another quick question. Is the mount that the front chassi brace screws too, the same that was used for the upper chassi brace for the SD? And if not what is the part # for that piece?

I purchased a car that I believe was converted to a CGM, and this person did a very poor job of assembling. When I mount the front brace to the tranny case there is about a 1.5 - 2 mm gap between the chassi and the brace, plus the screw holes don't line up. I know that the rear brace mount was changed, so I'm hoping that the front was too. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

porter

you need to use CGM upper deck mount. They are different than other SD.

an odd question for you all. my SD is my first shaft car, so im unsure of something. With no elecs in the car if i roll it back and forth im hearing a clicking sound coming from the front drivetrain. Is this normal, or is this something i should look to eliminate?

2 things: either your tranny cover is loose or one of the teeth in the gears are missing, bent or wasted.
Peace and Happy Racing

PS: run the CGM in Mod and such a dream to drive!!!!

thx ill give that a look when i have some spare time.

im thinking of getting the rayspeed conversion for my SSG. We dont do a hell of alot of racing up here, so it would be mostly cosmetic. is the CGM that much of an upgrade to the ssg?
