utieh: you don't want to go so low that the cells hang below the chassis. That would be bad! Usually, just a slight bevel is needed. Just do a little at a time. Remember, you can always take off more, but you can't put it back on once you've sanded it off!

Default Question for those who have the car...

mo: ...or anyone else who got a production kit...

I was just looking at the exploded diagram of the car. In the lower left of the page, along with the other included tools, theres what looks to be a ride height/droop guage there as well. Is that item included with the kit?

Darkseid, yes, that is a plastic ride height / droop gague.
utieh, just like Darkseid said, just do a little bevel. The main goal is just to give the batteries a flat place to sit on so the shrink won't get cut and short the batteries and your electronics out.

DArk, I agree, but if you DO take a little too much off, you can use some medium CA to build the beveled edges back up a little. It will also give you a rounded edge to help save the shrink wrap. Of course, we're talking a little, not a lot.... but if you go just a hair too deep it can help.

That sounded kinda redundant, didn't it? And it also sounded like I was repeating myself, too....

since there's only like 3 or 4 in the states right now it's kinda hard to tell if people are going to run into problems. But from Mo and myself running the car last weekend in both stock and mod and then Mo running a bunch of packs through it on sunday we had no problems at all.

Thanks Matt

But the thing that has me worried is that my Japanese buddys that have the car are telling me how they are having problems with the front one-way gear warping after a big crash.. ..and also the front diff case breaking where it mounts to the shock tower ...othere than that ...they have no other problems..?

i guess we posted the same time..you just answered my questions...

I remember that the Evo3 also had problems with the front one-way gear stripping after a bad crash.. the problem was then fixed in the newer kits...

I'm sure if YOkomo hears the complaints they'll quickly fix the problem...

JDM: I don't think the car has been invented yet that doesn't have problems. With only 4 cars in the states right now, its not surprising that there haven't been any bad reports.

But once we all get our kits, its going to happen. Your going to hear the reports. Good, bad, and ugly. Your going to hear the name "brokomo", your going to hear "its the best car ever" and you have to take them all with a grain of salt.

Really, no body can help you decide. I would say go for it because its a damn good looking car and thats half the battle at the track!

But, if your looking not to hear any bad stuff.....aint gonna happen! Not for this car, not for ANY car. Just ain't gonna happen!

P.S.....just get the car........you know you wanna!
