I'm going to try a stock DCX receiver instead of the Novak synthesized one I have in now. Also going to change my wiring some. I run my wiring very neat and sometimes when they are bunched together glitching can happen. I will change some stuff for next week. Sometimes my neatness causes problems.

Steve: the idea about the radio module is interesting. I've had glitching for a while now (not just with the Rayspeed chassis) and my radio has its original module from 5 years ago . Maybe I should replace the module, I didn't know they wore out.

Matt: I've also heard that Yok is having trouble coming up with a proper mix of graphite and composite materials for their parts. I don't really understand what the problem is, though, because there are soooooo many graphite parts for the original MR4 TC . Maybe the new material coming is going to be better than Yok's old graphite/composite formula.

I ran the Rayspeed chassis last night for the first race ever on carpet with foam tires. The car, after some adjusting on the Hudy board, seemed very neutral, but the chassis had too much roll and not enough off-throttle steering. Next time I will work on fixing these problems, as well as try running an Alfa 2 rather than the Stratus 2. I think the setup issues were my problem, not the chassis's, because I had too much droop dialed in and improper diff adjustments (the front diff was too loose).

The chassis is quite flexible (bad for carpet) but Peter had a good idea. He pointed out that the Rayspeed motor plate lets the chassis flex because it only mounts in the middle. So, today I put the original motor plate back on, and I think the chassis is a little bit stiffer. I'll try this new setup (less droop, tighter front diff and original motor mount) on Friday probably.

2Tenths : modules don't wear out, you are just supposed to send your radio (i.e. radio, module and receivers) back to the manufacturer (or importer) once a year for checkup and adjustments.

Hi, I am interested to get a SD. I have a XRAY T1R now and I am very happy with its performance. On club track, I've seen many people playing SD and they always need to adjust the car's setting and tweak the car after every few packs of batteries. Does SD need lots of time to do maintainence? To me, my T1R is so simple and I can describe it as a "build and go" type. Any comment for me?

2Tenths,

I didn't know about that until recently too, and upon confirming with quite a few pro-drivers, yes, they do go out. Don't go out and buy one just yet, check with a racing buddy to see if he can let you borrow one (maybe even try on on a different Mhz) and see if that solves your glitching problem.

Steve, what's your opinion of the SD compared to the barracuda r2? I'm thinking of picking up an R2 or R3 soon and would like to know your opinion.
