If I just use longer shock ends on my shocks won't that make them long enough for the Rayspeed conversion? I think I read a few pages back that they need to be 64mm or 66mm long, con't remember which one it was. I will have to go back and a few pages and look for that info.

no it still will not fit with the longer shock ends... the shock retainers will still be in the same position. If you want to keep the original Yok shock ends you'll need to purchase the Rayspeed Spring Retainers. or other option is to use AE shock ends and AE spring retainers.

Hey I live in New York... The land of Half a Million dollar middle class houses and 10,000 USD a year property taxes... Nothing here is cheap...

But I'm seriously finging that that upper deck is a royal pain in the butt...

HEHEHE I think I need a tad bit HP. My RR is pretty quick and lightweight but no match for the R1. I'm actually a Yamaha guy but I got such a good deal on my RR at of all places (my Yamaha dealer) that I bought it even though it is a Kawi. It only had 174 miles on it and I saved over 2500 bucks over a new RR or a new R6. My salesman races R6's and he said that my RR is plenty fast enough but is just a bit off of the average racer on the track. He also said that seems to be changing as Tommy Hayden seems to be getting better setups on his RR and won a few races.

It is plenty of bike for me and I just can't see needing more for the riding I do.

RC Zombies,

I have the Rayspeed shock retainers,

Will I be able to use the standard shocks (short shocks) + RS shock retainer with the Rayspeed conversion kit ?
Or it is better to buy the SS longer shocks ?

Thanks

Don't know about that one...I've sold my SD awhile ago.
I've heard though that to use the RS chassis and towers you'll have to get the longer SS shocks.... but I don't see why you can't use the longer shocks ends for it work.... As soon as my Bro gets his RS conversion kit... I'll try to find out....

Ok, got my SS shocks. Question is, how do I convert them from aeration to bladder type? I've got the bladder type caps. Do I assemble them like the SSS shocks in the SD kit? Do I just leave out the foam piece?

assemble them as the SSS shocks in the SD... they should be identical but longer...

Someone asked about the thickness of the top deck. I measured mine and posted it a few weeks back when the RS chassis first came out. So thumb back a few pages. As for SS and SSS shocks, assemble the exactly the same.

This is the size difference just so yall know. They gave me a new part number for it. But that too is a few pages back on this forum.
