Default Rayspeed Chassis

The Rayspeed chassis set is now up on the Yokomo Japan website. Looks pretty nice.

The way its pictured, the Rayspeed chassis looks like a conversion kit. Does anyone know whether the pieces will be available separately? (I'm mostly interested in the shock towers.)

MattHoward I have one of those new Yoke chargers. Very nice and compact size. Do you use that Yokomo Peak on yours or do you stick with the standard Peak Charge? If you used the Yokomocharge did you notice any differance in the way your car ran, like more punch?

Thanks
Brian

Default building my MR4-SD

Hi,

I am building my MR4-SD and find that the drive train is very stiff, sort of binding. Is there a problem with the manual of having 3 shim at the bevel gears ?

Also, I got spare bevel gears from my LHS, and the new bevel gears are sort of brown color, but the kit gears are black. Is there a difference between the two ?

I saw a light weight carbon staft on my LHS, is it a good buy ?

I just wonder if there is a dedicated web site on MR4-SD tips and tricks ?

For the carbon shaft, are you running stock or mod? The shaft will hold up well for stock, for mod, I have heard that people have shattered the shaft, I have one put an 8T double and drove on the street, didn't break. It is a worthy purchase.

As for that Rayspeed chassis, it is sweet. Can't wait to see the off the shelf version.

You are going to have to play around with moving the shims. I believe my car only has 2 on the bevel gear and both shims on the long diff halve so it moves the gear away from the little bevel gear freeing up the car. Just move them around until you get the least amount of drag. It is pain to do, but well worth it once it is right.

The gears are suppose to be the same. The first kits where to be white, but they ended up a brown color. People did not like this so they made them in black.

Only run the graphite shaft if you are running stock. That is all it is designed for and will break with a mod.

view my setup

That is my setup for stock -- very similar to Masami's Reedy setup. For me and my style it works excellent! Email/PM me if you have any other questions. Some biggies for SoCal IMHO are the rear tower up front and a front one way. Also see my notes about the Stratus 2.0 v Alpha (short answer = Alpha much better suited for SoCal due to high front downforce). BTW, the SD is much faster that a Losi (my old car) out of the corners and top speed may be equal -- we have looks AND performance!

For the gurus here -- I have a (very) slight oversteer on exit -- does anyone recommend a solution so I can be a little more aggressive with the throttle past the apex? Or is that just the torque that isn't truly correctable outside a smooth trottle finger?
