Mo, Matt and all, I have been seeing some setups coming out recently with .8 mm spacer placed under the rear of the front suspension mount. What does this tuning change do to the car? Are you gaining or losing steering with that change?

Thanks for the info!

Jeff

Using the shims that come with the car you can adjust caster that way. so if you put one shim It takes a Deg of caster out so it will make it 4deg..

Jeff, it gives the car 0 degree front kickup and makes the steering smoother.

How much caster do the guys that run spools use? I know with my XXX-S I added caster when I went to the spool front diff setup. It really helped going into a corner off power. Then with the spool as soon as I smacked the throttle again the rear would just come around and I would have tons of high speed steering.

I pretty much always use 0 kickup with a spool, diff or 1way.

Mo so your just normally 4 degrees of caster I take it. Cool I will try that when I make my spool up later this week. Car does seem to have alot of steering, even with the front diff in it steers very well.

Well I see Chris Tossilini won the KO race this weekend in Cali! Looks like a good field of the pro guys were there...nice win for Yokomo. Maybe a good roll going into nats!

Thanks Steve, let me know when they come in, I'll order some more SD junk with them.

I'll be going up to race at SoCal this Tuesday, hopefully see you there, I'll bring the Tobee Craft stuff for you to check out.

Well guyz da yok sd is no longer a virgin.I loved the way the car handeled.I even got a few compliments on my driving .I just wish I would of had a little more time to get some spares and I would of liked to get a better spring asortment other than the crapy one that came with the kit(every one of them are different lengths)I think I'll just change the shock ends to the ass. stuff so I can run the as. springs. That and the eyelette on the ass. is bit longer(so I won't have to unsrew the stock shock eyelette to get the droop that I want).I prolly would of done good to day at our club race but during intermission I decided to try a pack out to see if it was me or car on one turn(was me)and I broke.so sad but true I did not run A main and packed up and went home to nagging wife .Next time I will try to have some spares.

Randman,

No problem. Unfortunately I will not be at SoCal this tuesday. We'll be off to ROAR Nats Tuesday night. I probably will be doing a lot more out doors racing in the next few months...but I'll let you know if I'm heading out to SoCal again.

Dog Bone, Original or Aftermarket.

I've seen a few people mentioned about the dog bone replacement for the SD. I couldn't find the info, there were so many pages back. I would like to have a few extra for spares. I will bent them eventually.

Who got the original steel dog bone?

If I would like to get the after market one, who make it? I do not wish to order from oversea tho…

Does MIP for MR-4TC fit? Part number would be good.

Iuse the stock drive shafts for now but SpeedTech has the Tobee aluminum ones in stock and they are cheap to. I will use them in the rear only and the steel in the front since the front drive shafts take more abuse.

Yeah, I checked Speedtechrc but "out of stock".

I just have a hard time to believe that I can not even find the original steel one anywhere, not even the Yokomo USA.

My original steel one still in mint condition. But as I went down lower in a motor's turn, eventually I will crash into a wall. I ran mine indoor carpet. Next weekend I plan to run 8X1. Might have to hold on to my horse until I have at least a spare steel dog bone in my part's bin.
