Wow....Speedtech has the price for the Barracuda R2 up already.

Steve said the R2 "would be more pricey than the SD", and the SD is only going for $309. I hope this is a sign that the estimates of $320 for the SD are off.

Hopefully, he will have a price for the SD soon.

I think that with the current materials that Yokomo uses for their chassis isn't up to par in the hotter weather and the two piece graphite will be the better choice. This is only my opinion but I've watched and raced the yokomo in high heat and it's not fun once the squirming starts.

good point... most people in aust would have to go down 1 or 2 teeth to run 27t stock

5.5 is close to perferct for the jrm 23t stock motors that are hugely popular in asia (they are gerat fun)

Damn that car looks better and better every time I look at it. It's like an Evo III without some of the annoyances that car has.

I know this is the MR-4TCSD thread, so I'll go brief on the "cuda" The R2 is actually one of the car that's been giving Yokomo the toughest competition in Japan (Japan manufacture gauge market share by looking at the racers at the sportsman nationals). The construction of the R2 uses a lot more alloy parts, which makes everything more precise especially the drive train. I was able to get my car to free spin for about 18-20 seconds.

For more info, you guys are welcome to check out the two Barracuda threads on this website. The car will be more pricey than the SD, but I personally feel the price is justified. As of right now, we have around the same amount of pre-order for both cars.

and I promise, no more "cuda" talk on this thread

Thanks for reading guys

Yeah and the asymmetrical steering blocks and rear hubs...too.
FYI - the parts are SYMMETRICAL, not Asymetrical.

I don't even work for Yokomo and I felt the need to correct that, how anal is that? haha

On the Yok forum, someone said that Tossolini has one now. Don't know how true that is but I'd assume the factory guys would have first crack at the prototypes and first-batch production cars.
