What's the difference?

Okay, I've heard of the Green and the Gold versions, what is in the Black Version?

The black version is just a black version of the silver graphite used in the first SD. The price is the same according to the Yokomo Japan site.

Mo or Matt...I just ran my car last weekend for the first time (SD). The car ran well. Ran the 2nd fastest lap of the race day in mod. But the car was not "perfect"...lol I was running #3 pistons with 40wt in the front and #2 piston in the rear with 40 wt. Pink spring in front and yellow in rear. I am looking for more initial turn in steering. My thoughts were maybe my front had to much pack with the #3 pistons. Would #2 give me that turn in steering? Also thought about putting some kickup in the front. Love the car just needing to get it even more hooked up!

Jeff, we have found that the car is very sensitive to camber change adjustments. If all your lacking is some initial turn in, the only thing I would change for your next time out is, raise the outter front camber link ballstud by .030. If that isn't engough, I would add 1 degree of antisquat to the rear.

I am in the process of making a new front shock tower with the geometry of the rear tower but with more mounting holes and more cabmer holes. If things go well and I was able to have some made, would you be interesed in them. I would probably make one for the rear as well. Hopefully I will be able to get one made for this weekend for some testing.

Guys,

When using Rayspeed springs, you have to use AE springs cups but do you have to use longer shock bodies just like Adachi (SS)or do the standard (SSS) shock bodies fit ?

Thanks

You also have to use AE #7217 shock end. AE spring cups will not fit the SD shock ends. Waiting for parts to arrive...haven't made the conversion yet.

Can't wait to get those parts...looks like the rear arm pins are held in place by blue collars instead of set screws.

Oh-BTW, did you get your Alinco pwr supply yet?

I haven't tried limiting the shocks yet, but I guess it couldn't hurt at this point, I dont see why there is no way to lower the car any more than it is, even with large diameter tires.

I did recieve the Alinco power supply, it is really nice, havent had any problems with it yet, but I havent taken it to the track yet either, just used it to run slave motors on the lathe, and power motors to break in my B4 transmission.

Mo, I too would be interested in a tower when you get them done.

Also I am lokoing for a tire combo to try. The local track seems to be a 32 take off/stock insert tire track. I think there may be a better tire insert combo out there. The track is a med to low bite concrete large track. I know you like sorex tires and would love some info!

What is the smallest diameter foams that will work on this car and still get 5mm clearance?

I run my 61mm tires down to 53mm on my TC3 right now i hope to continue this on my SD when it comes in next week.
