Hi guys. Greetings from Malta.

I have seen Masami's writings on the Yoke USA forum.

What can we do to entice him to help us out with our Yokes on this one.

From what I have seen of Masami, and his dad, they don't talk much, but what they say makes alot of sense. he would be a real asset to this thread.

This week I am concentrating on improving my son's TC3 a bit so I won't be doing much running with the SD. I drove his championship winning TC3 yesterday. It understeers into corners like crazy. I don't know how he manages to drive it as fast as he does. I'm sure he will be plenty quicker by the time I have finished with it.

regards

Joe from sunny Malta.

There is another way - wire up the fan with a power plug for your receiver and plug it into the third channel (assuming you have a three channel receiver). This works extremely well.

Just been catching up on the last 24 hours on this fast thread. Well done and keep it up. it's all so helpful.

RANDMAN. To try to answer your questions.

FAN. I use a small 12 volt computer fan. If you can find a 5 volt one it will be better, and I know they are around. Just haven't been able to locate more than 1. That one is fitted to my belt drive MR4. Another thing to look out for is as low a wattage or amperage as possible.

As far as battery drain is concerned I can tell you that I fitted a similar 12 volt fan on my son's TC3. He runs 9 and 10 turn motors in 5 minute mod races with 3000 cells - and still gets plenty of duration and speed. The fan's consumption is negligible.

As far as connecting the fan is concerned, there are a number of ways you can do it. I just went straight onto the red and black lugs on the Novak GT7 speedo. This means that the fan is on when the cells are connected. I don't like the idea od hard soldering my cells. Instead I use good quality Corally gold connectors for all my cells, and I don't think I loose much in terms of resistance. If you solder your cells in then pass one of the fan wires through the speedo switch but check whether the switch is on the pos or the neg side. I can't remember offhand. The last alternative is on the motor wires but as you say that means your fan only works with the throttle.

Hi...

Was thinking of purchasing an SD and wanted to get everything in one fell swoop... has anyone tried any hop-ups from:

Square (titanium axles etc.)

Tobee Craft (lite alu driveshaft, alu dogbones etc.)

Any other tips on what to buy aside from the breakables would be great!

Thanks guys!

I've got the dog bones coming any day now...should be alot more durable than the YOK aluminum version at half the price. The Square Ti axles I've thought about getting soon... I just broke a couple of axles over the weekend.

Hi Guys,

We are working on the Tobee Craft stuff, and the price should be lower than Japanese MSRP I'll let you guys know when we receive the parts in stock.

I just got off the phone with Yokomo on a previous order..the SD parts arrived yesterday...and they are in the process of unpacking and shipping out to dealers... the good thing is I was able to convince them to ship me out some carbon shaft and one-way outdrives along with my other order...

Hi Guys,

Yup, they are in stock (but going very fast!) Both the one-way and the graphite shafts are in stock. We also have some MMS back in stock and the Rayspeed Springs too.

it can tell you the no load RPM, amp draw, and condition of the motor. It's not as usefull and an actual dyno but it's better than using the "ear" method of determining which motor is faster. You can also use it to break in motors and run a lathe and it's alot cheaper than a dyno
