Hey Tom2335,

i think you still need to use the front shock tower.
unless you like to do some dremel works....

The rear shock's mounting point (shock holes/roll center holes) are the same as the front shock(Silver shock tower).

Unless you are using rayspeed shock, then you should use the rear shock on the front also.

tom235:

put your good rear shock tower up front, then you will know
basically, you need to dremel down the body post area on the shock tower.

The silver shock tower offer the same exact shock mounting postions for front and rear, just the rear tower has extra material for the body post.

The rayspeed shock tower is different between front and the rear for mounting shocks. That is why we use rear rayspeed shock up front as it offers more shock mounting postions.

Since i have not touch the silver one for years.. so i might be worng there.

Yeh you must cut the "ears" off.The rear offers more choice of roll centre and shock mounting positions. Most of the posted setup sheets use the rear on the front. It is a good alternative if you cant get the Rayspeed towers.

Where is the best place to buy the Rayspeed towers.
I know the Yokomo website has them, but what other online retailers carry them in stock?
Do most of you just purchase direct from Yokomo?

Hey Guys, i know there is a wtb thread but thought i might get some better response this route. I cant seem to find my ssg chassis chassis, top plate and center stiffener since i installed a cgm conversion and would like to change back. If anyone has those items, preferably in new condition, please send me a pm with condition and price.

Thanks,

Blake

This thread has kinda sunk down into the abyss, so I thought I'd give it a bump.

What are some of you guys using for gearing?
I am using the stock 70T spur and running a Trinity CO27 stocker.
Our track is somewhat tight with short shoot straights. What do you recomend as a starting point for the pinion?

I found a NEW SEALED Black Carbon SD chassis in my studio. Didn't know that I even had it. Can someone give me a "ball park" price to ask for it if I list it for sale?

my yok mr4tc with the black special has been great. its never broken on me, its fast as anything, and handles like a cat on carpet. the only downside is the front diff. it gets loose kinda easily. all you need is a one way and you got a true racer. i competed in a high class with my car stock. and ife you put a brushless in it, it will scorch. ive run with nitros at the track.

Thank you for the gearing tip.

That SD doesnt look very sealed any more.
I paid just over $200 Canadian for mine a few weeks ago.

The main chassis was pulled out of the bag. The rest is sealed.

you i haver the black chassis. its nice. you could probly get a decent price for it if its brand new and nothing is open in the kit. i would think you could get roughly $300 for it if its the full black special kit and hasnt been opened
