I've said it many times before in this thread, and I'll say it again - it only breaks if you crash!

Over three years of ownership I doubt I have had more than half-a-dozen races spoiled by crash damage.

Many of the parts that were supposedly fragile have been updated anyway, the newer c-hubs have more material, the G (grpahite) parts seem a little more durable and less sloppy, there are also heavy duty wishbones.

Other than a few steering knuckles, C-hubs and wishbones I think the only parts I've broken have been a diff screw, bumper mount and a few slightly bent hinge pins.

Default LCG ???

Hi guys,
Just wanted to see if there is a way to stiffen up the LCG the top deck in specific. LCG is a great car but just flexes a bit too much at times.
I do have the optional steering posts installed ..that helped a bit..but it seems most of the flex occurs at the motor mount, the double deck doesn't help it..

any help/infor would be appreciated.

Thanks all.

Here is a picture of Dave Goss' LCG. He used shock towers to stiffen the chassis.

Looks good but wouldn't make siderails like the Baracuda Stinger stiffer?
Also anyone has a good setup for slippery asphalt? Tyres/inserts, ride height droop?

Wow, that was creative. Does anyone make a stiffer upper deck?

Default creative

that's quite creative...
I had a friend make a thicker top deck, only the front section...but it still had flex..
has anyone tried to link the both top sections together..and possibly use the SDW motor mount to lift up slightly.

I'm sure it is, but that looks like it took a little work. Plus, I don't want it too be REAL stiff, just stiffer. Right now, my car feels like rubber when I flex it.

I think by removing some of the posts it becomes more flexible.

If you want it stiffer you can "modify" a Rayspeed top deck. It's 2.5 so it's a little stiffer. I have noticed that the LCG does flex..a lot. I don't think it would be an advantage on a high bite track ( ) I have noticed that all the LCG parts will fit right on a Rayspeed chassis. The only modifying you would have to do is drill a few holes for the steering or you could use the Rayspeed steering..I don't really see an advantage in using the LCG steering over the Rayspeed..Oh you do need to modify the battery slots if you want to use 3800 or larger batteries.

Dave said his car was great, but he felt that he was not.
