My first almost real RC was a Monogram Lightning, but my first real one was a Tamyia Fox. I had a ball racing it out at Mike's Trainland when I was a kid.

Associated RC10 Buggy, Gold Tub Chassis. Painted the white plastic puke green color. My first offroad race, i put thumb tacts in the inside of the tires and raced it like that. I got in trouble for doing so and got kicked out for 2 weeks.

Depends on what will you do with that NIB fox...if you want to see how much it will be worth 10-20 years later from today, leave it....FOX is ok for collectable, not as crazy as Superchamp, Helix or Bruiser type....but anything NIB, 20 years from now will worth some money...

If not....build it....and enjoy it. (my advise, keep it NIB).

Anyone here old enough to remember Heathkit?
I thought Heathkit made computer kits and stereo stuff? Weren't they the precursor of Radio Shack?

My first R/C car was a Latrax 1/12th scale Corvette. The transmitter was a box with a wheel, same as the Futaba but the case was grey. The car came with an ESC that was probably 4"x3", aluminum chassis that was maybe 3" wide and as long as the car. A tray bolted to the chassis that held the batteries and electronics, the rear pod was mounted on a pivot that was damped by a piece of foam rubber. The rear axle was hex shaped and e-clips held the wheels. The car seemed fast for the time, but bombing up and down the street soon got boring. I'm guessing this was 1978 or 1979.

Default Nikko Panther

My first rc car was a Nikko Panther at age 9. Then I got a Red Arrow from a friend who I traded comic books to. My dad would never buy me any good rc cars so I had to fend for myself. Then I got a hold of a Golden Arrow from the same friend for more comic books.
My first real car was at age 14 my dad actually bought me an Ultima II kit, but no remote battery or charger. He said he'd help me build it but never did. Finally I took the initiative got the kit and put it together myself at 14 yrs old. Then I sold a Joe Montana rc card to a card shop and finally got my remote, battery and charger lol.
Ive always wanted a Fox or a Hornet as a kid, and I still do as an adult. Long story but there it is
