Default Hara Pro 4 vs Kyosho TF-5

What would pro level shaft TC would you rather drive for 2007 racing season, a Hara edition Pro 4, or the new Kyosho TF-5? Also, please comment on pros and cons of the cars, and your experiences with them so far...

I have the Kyosho and it is a very solid car. It handles pretty good right out of the box, for rubber tires on carpet. I've only made small changes to the kit setup. I haven't broken anything so far on it. I did have have to shim some of the arms and stuff on the front end, but otherwise the fit and finish is pretty good. I'm comparing it to an xray, which is very nice and a Tc4, which takes a whole bag of shims to get right. I'm very happy with the car.

I think you'd be happy with the Pro 4 also. I've only drven one once and it was ok. I'd just get whatever kit you can get parts for or can get some setup help with. Unless you are pretty good at setups.

How about Tamiya TB Evolution 5? Aluminum bulkhead, center universal shaft, low upper deck, low mounted steering, etc...

I think EVO5 is better than Pro4 or TF-5.

Default How did I know this guy was going to start a thread like this....

All being considering, the Yokomo is the best of the 4 (HPI, Yokomo, Tamiya, Kyosho). Evo V and the Pro 4 are tied for second. Tamiya because they have conquered torque steer and is blinged out. Their parts are ridiculously hard to come by, however. The Pro 4 gets second billing because Hara was killing the competition until he moved over to Hot Bodies. Kyosho, last because they havent conquered anything and their parts too, are hard to come by. Yokomo parts arent that easy to get, depending on where you are, but the car drives so damn nice, it has to get top billing.

BXPITBULL- I agree. My buddy runs his MR4TC SD LCG, and its easier to drive than his MR4TC BD. He runs both with Novak 3.5R motors, and the shaft car is a bit more balanced and easier to drive, especially inside. The LCG is bullet proof, and for about 7 months that he's been driving it hard, he has never broken arms, hubs, knuckles. Its great. Personally, I'd rather get a Evo 5, but getting parts is a nightmare. The Kyosho TF-5 is bit easier to get parts for, as speedtechrc has basic stuff for it, at least. The Hara Pro 4 you can still get parts for, and its one I have driven and its a very nice car.
