Hi,

I use the Spectra module in my 3PJS along with a Novak XXLtra Rx without any problems. I think the Futaba is the only other radio it will work in.

Thanks

dtm: The spectra module is 75mhz only. So he has to be running 75mhz.

was ist los: The fact is that most radio manufactrers haven't made an all new radio in almost five years. So the modulating Tx module and Rx is something they haven't had a chance to impliment. Hitec is the only company that makes the Tunable module right now, but I suspect that all the major manufacturers will follow suit soon enough. For most of them it will simply take them making a new module for their top of the line systems. Since most of them already have removable modules.

My hope it that some more companies will produce the modulating recievers. Maybe then it will drive down the high cost of Novak's XXtra.

Thanks Darkside- I had previously rumours that it would work with the 3PJS..... I guess I can now get my money out and buy one! 75mhz suits me just fine!

Just one more question! With the 3PJS and Spectra can I still use Futaba 75mhz crystals on the receiver?

dtm: from what I have heard, you can use other companies' crystals. Futaba crystals should work well considering HiTec and Futaba use "positive shift" technology.

Your best bet though would be to ask some one who already has it in their 3PJS.

Or just get a Novak XXtra, and forget the crystals all together!

I have more than a few receivers already too, but yesterday I walked up to the frequency rack at the track, grabbed the first pin I saw, and walked back to my pit table with it. Click, Click, and I was on the track. No waiting, no hunting for the pin on "my" frequency, no muss, no fuss.

All my crystal receivers are outta here.

Trips: isn't that great....I love walking past the big line of people waiting...hehe

Darkside: Hitec & Futaba are bot NEGATIVE shift......Airtronics uses positive shift....Don't mean to be "picky", just thought I would clarify...

Guys,

I looked into this because I have a 3PJ.

I would have to buy at least 2 of the Novak crystal-less receivers and the Spetra module.

I think the spectra module alone is $160+, then add the new receivers.

Yes, it will work in a 3PJ, but compare the cost. I think i'll just stick to crystals!!!!!

Hi:

Just got back from Cleveland. I took our 3PJS and the Sprectrta module along. I also got a XXtra Rx. no waiting for clips, no glicthing EVER. I will not go back to crystals again. ...... now if I could talk Mike Mayberry into making one for my R-1 I'd be really happy.

the Spectra Module is about 110. where I live. same with the XXtra.
