I believe he is looking for things such as

What ampdraw should the motor be tuned to at what voltage?
Whats the best brush?
Drops?
CO27 vs. Monster?Any cuts (hole, slots, filed edges)
Break-in Procedures?

It's been a LONG time since I did 12th stock but heres what I remember doing: New monster; polish bushings, align hoods, diamond true the comm, shimm armature, install new brushes (I like 767's, with either a single slotted or small hole in center for 12th scale), red and green springs +/-. Oil bushing, run in for 2 mins on 3 volts with fan blade, true comm again(optional, and I do it sometimes), should pull around 10amps at 3 volts no-load on a Turbo35 charger.

Gearing? Varies on battery performance and track layout. Something like 46-50mmpr rollout on tight track start low and go up is good idea. It's hard to say for stock sometimes; some folks like to gear to the moon and beat the crap out of their motors to go fast just cause new batt's got the muscle to do it!

Bill,

Our setup for the Champs on 12th scale was the following:

Co27, F brushes with .010 off the trailing edge and a 2mm hole in the face. Break in at 2 volts with a fan and a liberal amount of Zubaks speed juice for 300 seconds. It should pull 7.0-9.0 amps like this. After break in spray out with motor cleaner and then lightly skim comm. Re-break in for 300 seconds with the speed juice at 2 volts and then spray out again without removing the brushes or springs. Put in car, 4 drops of juice down each hood and roll out at 1.80-1.95 depending on amp draw...Roughly 1 tooth per amp on the original build (7.0 amps=1.95 roll out). Amp draw will go down slightly after skimming the comm but this will allow you to run the motor in 12th scale 4-5 times without rebuilding it and it will keep getting faster. Just spray out after each run and then break in for 30 seconds. Re-apply drops and go again.

We used this at the Champs and TQ'd and won 12th stock, Won 19 turn 12th scale and TQ'd TC Stock. The only difference we do in TC is no hole and we do not tear apart and skim the comm after breaking in the first time.

Thank you for posting your setup on the motor. I would like to hear what others think? Also, what indications to look for in a 19T motor? Lets say Komodo Dragon motor.

Mr. Shookie:

Since you said this is the wrong thread, where is this being discussed?
