Default need options for discharger

im getting some new ib 4200 cells and they recommend that they discharge at 35 amps. looking to see what options are out there for a 35 amp discharger. i know the turbo 35 can discharge at that rate but i dont wanna go and buy another charger. thanks for the help

Well everyone is talking that a "pulse discharger" is better for these IB packs, especially for the 4200SHV's and 4200WC's.

So..

Much More CTX-D2
Trinity Dyna Pro Discharger
Team Wave Lightning 2

Spintec does have a Version 2 discharger coming out, but thats for the hole pack where teh ones listed above will prolly be better.

All I know as of now. Im going with the DPD personally.

But people are still doing the traditional 20-30 amp bulb discharge, then putting the packs on some type of tray, Mostly a smart tray which is great, I had one.

for maintenance - trinity DPD
for matching - CTX-DV2

DPD = spintec battery manager + equalizing tray, but not accurate about single cell parameter. So, for comparing each cell, CTX-DV2 is the way.

I hope someone will make the best dischager carrying both system.

i suppose i should post up what they said to do for maintaning their batteries.

when i get them discharge them at 35 amps down to .9 volts per cell. then put them on a novak smart tray or something similar and take them down to .7 volts per cell. then put about 200 seconds of charge in them at 6 amps. and store them that way. when i go to use them discharge at the 35 amps. then on the smart tray. then full charge at 6 amps.

i have a smart tray. just wondering what i should be using for the 35 amp discharge. would i be ok with getting something like the trinity or much more 30a pulse discharger?

Get the spintec batman. The v1 will work but it cuts off at .85v, I am still using this version for my ib4200's. The v2 is available now through horizon, and it has an adjustable cutoff. You don't need to spend the extra $40 on a trinity as you already have a smart tray.

I have the Novak Tray (almost everyone does) and picked up an INDI 30amps discharger called 'REACTOR".......for $40. After discharge the pack @ 30amps w/this reactor, then place it to SMART TRAY...done. A lot of local guy recommand this cheap discharger, works really good.

Not the top notch professional way to discharge or manage the cells like DPD or SPINTEC, but, it works OK for my 4200WC at club race or not so big national race.
