Ryan, you probably want to use a 100 or 104.

What's up Brian you been doing any racing. Is that spur size for when you run rubber tire or foam.

Thanks Ryan

What's the secret ?

Some locals are using the older RDX pieces, but there must be a better way.

Jacko
What you can try is take some medium or thick ca... and put a little bit on the threads of the diff half. Make sure you wipe any excess off with a towel, and let it dry before you put the diff nut on again. All you are looking for to put a really really light coating of ca glue to make the threads a little tighter on the nuts.

Mark Panye, the 1/12 guy that does all of those cool little how to build stuff on his blog does that on his corally sp12x, and it's to make the diff nut hold on better. It's a very similar design concept on the rdx phi diff. So if you want some pics of how it's done check out his web blog. Hope that helps bud.

That's the spur I'd use if I were running 13.5. I normally run a 110 spur.

I'm hoping to get home once before Cleveland, but we'll see how my school schedule goes.

I'm running 84/39 on a medium sized carpet track with foams. Motor is about 130 degrees and very fast.

Since you have the PHI just switch the gear ratio to the smaller gear ratio. It's not that hard. Then you don't have to get some of the bigger pinions. You need a new rear belt, front and rear pulleys and two other parts to hold the diff in the correct position( sorry I don't know the correct part but it is explained in the gear chart section).I'm running the stock spur gear with either a front and rear diff or this weekend I'm trying a spool up front.I just run out doors and no carpet.Forgot this is my 13.5 .

It sounds like it's easier to just buy new pinions.

Trying to find the 48 pitch pinions I wanted is hard to find and impossible from Kimbrough. Before I had to use Brand X 41-43. Now I'm getting the same gear ratio with 30-33. So it's easier to find pinions.I've been running anywhere from a 4.90-4.30 overall with my 13.5. I just got a 13mm rotor and it says to start around a 4.00.My big race in Daytona is under rain delay for today at 11 am. My team mate has a 3.14 in his car ready for practice.Only he is using the standard set-up with a 52 spur and a 33 pinion.Until I get there tommorrow and run side by side and compare I don't know what set-up will be better- I'll let you know.

Well my team mate ran his RDX and that was it .He again was using a 52 spur gear with a 3.14 overal gear ratio. I ran mine with the 1.77 overall set-up with a 31= 4.30 gear ratio. The spool is diffently different and I'm not used to it.All I've driven is a double diff in both the RDX and the Phi until this weekend.I'd say for this Master the double diff is better(smoother ) But can see the Spool better fore most.I also ran the lipos (3200) with no problem and the 13.5 Novak. Also discovered why my car keep loosing the suppension parts.I was never told about the washer and screw to install in the front and rear clamps. They're done now and that problem won't happen again. This is an easy car to work on. Now it's time for somemore wheel time.
