I should have an RDX Phi on order as of Sunday, how hard are they to put together and are they as fast/fun as they look on a track? I'm currently driving a TC3 and while it's a good car the RDX looks to be substantially better.

It is a night and day difference to a TC3. Much smoother, more tuning options, lower center of gravity, etc....The Phi is also easier to tweak than a TC3 and less durable. Durability is still good but I have seen some TC3's go through a war that any other car would not be able to handle (My nephews TC3 for example ) while the Phi is a pure bread race machine. You will be very happy with it on the track.

Sweet. I raced a guy with an RDX and he was pretty damned fast. On the flipside I've been to a number of local races where one guy with a TC4 consistently pummels another racer with an X-ray (T2 iirc).

I'm really looking forward to this car, it'll be the first one I've built from the ground up!

Not sure! I only have the 4200s. If the 4800s are a sufficient amount larger in height then you may still find they physically don't fit under the bulkhead....
Anyone?

Hey all,
I might be getting one of these with a Novak 4.5 Brushless!
I need help with the gearing side of things, they say on the Novak gearing guide that the gear ratio should be around 9.5?
Can anyone help me with the gearing side of things for this car?

Cookie I thought you were talking about the lipos? I've got the 3800 and 4200Sub C's batteries to fit with no problem. It's the lipo's i had the problem with.I ordered the Peak/orion 4800 lipos and they would not fit. So I returned them and order the 3200 lipos that I know will fit. I have talked with Corally USA about the problem and they are going to try something out that we discussed.Maybe in a month or two there might be a fix for the 4800 lipos?

How is that full delrin spool made? Start with thick delrin rod, CNC lathe it, then CNC mill it?

Patrick made them with a hand lathe. All parts are hand made. Just some pieces of art. More and more top drivers start to use them because of the quality is just exceptionnal.

Jeff/Rob,

Got the car last night. Let me tell you, I think it is one of the finest pieces of RC Engineering I've ever seen.
