E-clip,

I run the short wheelbase on my Phi everywhere...carpet and asphalt.

Parts needed:

Corally TC79670 Pulley 36 teeth for LW differential (rear)
Corally TC79671 Pulley 36 teeth for duraluminium spool / front 1-way

Tamiya TRF415 Low Friction Belt (Rear)

Use the standard Corally RDX Phi front belt with the above.

I also like the narrow steering blocks over the standard ones to gain more steering.

Bill

I agree, the supershort wheelbase is king on asphalt. I have a REALLY good technical layout set up if your interested.

Rhys
i used to use them but found they wear more...
and seem to bind the suspension travel when straight up and down (very tight fit)
So you might want to file the blades slightly to stop this
also i just got myself the dural phi spool, so far so good using the standard shafts and blades...

Hey what motor class are you running. In modified you need a duraluminum spool and the steel blades do make a difference. Also are you using rubber or foam tires. I am in South Africa and we use foam 200 mm set-up, a lot more traction then rubber, this causes problems with a spool so we use one-ways.

Yeah Im running rubber tyres, and 4.5 lipo, i found the duraluminium spool to be very brittle and broke very easily, so im running the delrin spool of late with good results.

We never had problems with the duraluminum spool in 10.5 or higher motor classes. On rubber it was ok in mod too, but if you have a bad crash it can break or bend like any other part so keep it on the black stuff
Remember using a spool does wear out the front drive parts more then a diff. or one-way, so you need to make sure all parts are lubed and checked regularly.
Good Luck
