hey guys ive been looking into beuying a 1/12 onroad but i saw on rcmart that the corally was almost doublle the price of the associated so i wanna ask you is it worth spending twice the money on buying the corally ore is there another car that is better at a cheap price

Buy whichever 1/12 your local track has parts for and local racers use for support. All of them are very capable cars.

the associated is a good entry level 12th car. it is fast and very competitive and they make many conversion kits for it. the corally is a lil upgraded version with its ceramin bearings and other things. my suggestions though is to keep an eye at the for sale section as you can get a really good deal while helping out a fellow racer.

All of the current 1\12 scale cars are competitive in the right hands. If you are just starting in 1/12 scale, you will probably not know the difference between any of them nor would you benefit from the differences. Like Anthony said, buy one with local parts support and something that the local racers are using. If you don't know how to set up a 1/12 scale car, their help is priceless. Most of the current cars use the Associated front end, so battery setup and rear pod action (link or t-bar) are the biggest differences. 1/12 scale is harder to drive than touring, so if you're just curious to try it out, I'd buy a used car and give it a shot. If you don't like it, you can probably get all of your money back in resale.

get what your lhs supports
get what the others at your track run so you can get setup help
get whichever looks coolest to you

they all work...
and as for the L4 being an "entry" level 1/12... it's also top 3 in almost every modified national and worlds event... i wouldn't exactly call that "entry level" only...

Yeah, no doubt. The 12L4 is the basis by which everything is judged. It can go toe to toe with anything out there. Team Associated was first, dominated, and it's success copied with variations. Unfortunately, Team Associated has been fairly quiet with the development lately.
