I don't know if you "need" to charge them at 6 amps but it sure helps, some people charge them higher. I find that if I charge them at 6 amps with a 3mv delta peak they come of the charger at about 120 degrees, which is about what you are looking for.

Lipo batteries are in increments of 3.7v, one cell or more than one cell in parellel.
The orion platinum 4800 is 2 cells in parellel and 2 in series. It is the 2 in series that makes 7.4v. For 1/10th electric this is fine, but 1/18th sometimes use 11.1v which is 3 in series, these can't be charged by the advantage. Alot of planes and helicopters also use more cells in series.

5amp is sufficient, but sometimes your in a hurry because races sometime have 30minute turnaround so its pretty much required to have capability to charge at least 6amps.

LOL, i've now bought 4 of the MMR units! sold the original 2 and bought 2 of the new Rheinhard Editions cause they are so perty!! LOL

I've also bought and sold the GFX and immediately realized I made a mistake, so I bought another GFX. This is by far the best charger out there, but unfortunately, its price is very high. but it will do everything you need to do

Go with the ICE! I've used it for both lipos and nimhs and it works great. Plenty of other chargers out there have basically the same features but its hard for any of them to match the ICE's price.
