Tamiya Bodies: Non-Ferrari/NSX
Since our new TCS rules state that only 4-door sedan or DTM bodies are allowed, no Ferrari, NSX or other sports cars, which among the rest are the best to race?
I've only had experience with the Skyline from the TB-02 and F430 from the TA05 kit, and I want to know which one is worth getting before I fork over another $50 bucks.. :flaming: |
Are they allowing the Legacy body into GT2?
|
Nope, only GT1 class..
Interesting how they're allowing the Orion 3200 Lipo in GT1 and Rally.. |
Lexus SC430 is a great Tamiya shell. I have one on my TA05 and it handles very well.
|
I have heard good things about the Skyline, Lexus SC, and the Porsche Carerra GT that virtually no one uses. The only cars bodies NOT allowed in TCS GT2 class are any Ferraris (430 and 360), NSXs, and Legacy(not allowed for any class). Everything else is up for grabs.
|
Actually, our Canadian TCS rules say "No other sports car bodies" as well.. only DTM or 4-doors..

Where are these rules posted?
If it's four doors only I personnally would go with the Mercedes or the Audi DTM shells as they seem to provide the best oerfromance for those I see running on Sat. at Tamiya. I have not read the rules yet but both the Skyline and the Porche GT are two door. I little hint if there are older bodies avaialable to some of you I have some other suggestions, the Opel Astra and Opel V8 coupe |

the toyota altezza is good as well.

At the Tamiya Nationals (outdoor hi-grip track) the main body used was the new style Skyline R34, with a few old Style R34's, Porsche Carerra GT's, Lexus SC40 and Nissan 350Z.
It looks like Canada rules adopted what was used for '06 GT-2 Nationals only (regionals you can run anything excpet Legacy body). |
Has anyone here used the 350Z body? Wondering how people felt it handled with the optional wing, not the ABS whale-tail it comes with.
|
It's OK but it is 2 door.
|
Yeah, I am just looking for a temp body till the new Tamiya RX-7 comes out around Feb. I have a 350z and the HKS Altezza that have both never been used, so I thought I might used one of those for the time being.
|
350Z has a ton of steering, be careful with it when you are racing, can easily loop your car
