Default Need help with my Novak GT7 and Mar-R radio

Just installed a brand new KO 301F receiver from my Mars R system and have hit a possible problem with my Novak GT7 ESC.

For some reason when the ESC is connected to the reciever and switched on with the transmitter off, the motor and servo goes haywire and starts to glitch. When the transmitter is turned on, all is fine.

I have recalibrated the ESC but it did not seem to help. Seems like the GT7 is causing some sort of interference causing it to glitch the servo and motor.

When I replace the GT7 with my spare LRP Super Sport ESC all seems fine.

Has anyone had similar problems??? I don't really feel like replacing a brand new GT7 so any help would be appreciated.

That is normal, mine does the same thing and I have the same setup. You really shouldn't leave your car on and turn off your radio. If you did someone could be on the same channel as you are and have your car take off from your pit space while you are out marshalling.

Thanks Kraig.

I was starting to wonder if I had a dud ESC or radio system.

Just not used to this happening. The GT7 seemed to work well with my JR XR3 radio system.

I guess I just have to remember to always switch the ESC off before the transmitter or the car could go straight into a wall!
