Im having the same problem. My numbers are a bit higher but the cells are getting very hot. I just turned the peak detect down to .02 and running more cells now. Im also looking for a good zapper if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks.

If your buying cells from SMC you could have them zapped from them..How do you like the US?

Yeah, I didnt get mine from SMC. I havent gotten a reply from them regarding loose cells. Any idea how much they charge for virgin cells and for zapped unmatched cells? I did find one cell zapper from xipp that i may purchase. I would like to have more options, but this is the only one I found so far...

Dont know , I would just get them from SMC allready zapped , you gunna do more damage if you buy a zapper and do it yourself...

EA gets his cells right from SMC zapped and than Eric (EA) matches the cells himself..

WHAT ROOM ARE YOU DOING IT IN
IS IT COOL OR WARM
IS IT DRY OR HUMID
AND 1ST THE CELLS ARE NOT ZAPPED THO WITH 4200 IB THIS IS NOT MUCH OF A FACTOR
WHEN YOU CHARGE THEM WHATS THE TEMP OF THE CELL'S.

Huh? So you get 1.27 voltage from non-zapped cells 1.29 have come thru too.

Im not sure about the temp of the batteries becuase I dont have a temp gun. I will tell you they were getting way to hot with a .03 Peak Detect. I lost the shrink wrap on one of them because it got so hot. It was the only one that vented too...

RCHavoc,

With IB cells you need to use .01 on the peak detect when matching. 35 amps will give better results as well. Do NOT repeak the cells. It will inflate the numbers and get the cells hotter.

I have heard that zapping NIMH cells have not been "Proven" to help the voltage but dosnt hurt them. From what I have matched so far, I think zapping helps. I did a batch of GP3300's to figure everything out and the highest voltage I got at a 30a dis was 1.172

dont match in a cool room
you #'s will be low
i dont remember the right room temp to do it in but i know the air has to be a little warm to match cells. and always the same temp from day to day.
this is why i dont bother doing it the # are always different cuz i cant keep any room where i live the same temp from day to day.
