No! Mike, The way to beat it is to get 9 other drivers in the same class that you can race with and just don't run the practice heat. The resort will that care of itself.
Oh it's been tried before.

Hey Everyone,
This weekend's Regionals are canceled.... We had a few issues with things so we've decided to cancel the event. It may be rescheduled possibly in April.
We still will have a CEFX Raceway Nationals Warm-Up. Racing schedule will be the same with a few exceptions:
Friday - Practice 2pm-9pm. If you want to only practice this day it will be $10.
Saturday - 9am-1pm Open Practice, 3 rounds of qualifying. If time permits - Open practice until 9pm. If you only want to run Saturday it will be $15.00
Sunday - 9am-Noon Open Practice, 1-2 rounds of qualifying (depending on turnout) and Mains. If time permits - Open practice until 6pm. If you only want to run Sunday it will be $15.00
Rate for Friday, Saturday, Sunday will be $35.00
This also means that no ROAR Membership will be required for this weekend so any local drivers who weren't planning on attending the Nats and/or didn't want to pay the single event fee to run the Regionals will be good to go.

Hey guys ..... someone correct me if I'm wrong but I thought this year was the year ROAR was going to start seeding National Chamiponship qualifying heats based on a combination of results fom the previous years nationals and finishing position of region championships that take place between the previous national and up to 30 days befor the current years national championships. This is something that was explained to me by our ROAR pres Q. This change was intended to give regional championships more importance. This was also part of the reason for the addition of Level 5 events and the rule change that now alows drivers to compete in a region championship that borders their home region. Doug can you chime in on this?
Nash ...... the Rocket Round qualifying was a change in the rules for '07. Qual points were instituded to give racers a fair/equal qualifying oppertunity for venues that can see huge differences in track conditions from round to round based on weather changes. The argument for carpet was that carpet races don't have drastic track changes due to weather because they are indoor. I know that at last years carpet nationals their was a very well known driver that B'qd because of Qual Points and would have made the A based off of rocket round.
Good luck to everyone racing and we'll see you all next week.

Big hats off the EddieO and all that helped run the 2006 ROAR Stock Nationals. They worked hard to keep the event in ROARS spirit of the lar insted of the essance of the law regaurding practice.

According to the November meeting minutes it was "in review":
http://www.roarracing.com/downloads/...ng_Summary.pdf
If it was implemented I would like to see the parameters/rules regarding it so we know how nationals placement/regionals placement affect the seeding of the Nationals.

~ A proposal was made to seed initial Nationals qualifying order using regional championship results and previous year's A main finalists. This item is in review.
