I need a new front end for my 1/10 and after putting my gen-x together this weekend am seriously considering putting the pro-strut on it.

Here is a quick guide to bodies...
Parma Speed 8* - Best for stock and 19 turn, low drag and medium downforce, very stable
Parma Speed 8 HD* - Best for mod, high downforce and medium drag, very stable and planted
Protoform Speed 12* - Best for mod, medium stability, high downforce and a little less drag than Speed 8 HD
Protoform Speed 12b* - Best for stock and 19 turn, Medium stability, good downforce and very low drag.
*Light wieght version uses thinner lexan.

Haven't run both back to back to compare the handling characteristics, but quality wise imo the protoforms are much nicer the the parmas. They have ridges in several places to keep them stiffer and are a slightly heavier plastic (in between the parma lightweight and heavy, but closer to the lightweight). Though do weigh a couple of grams more though.

You can get the clamp screw at the link below. This screw is stainless as well.

Hey, I believe that screw is acually 3-48 size, maybe someone else can confirm....

More Gen-X testing tonight...
About 30 1:12th cars at CRC Raceway tonight, from top touring pros to new drivers.... mostly Gen-X cars here. Great competition, and tight racing. The cars are looking very good.
I am happy to report, with the new molded ride height spacers, the lower arms are pretty much bullet proof. We had no lower arm failures at the IIC in Las Vegas, and so far this season, no broken arms at the test track. We had a broken kingpin tonight, but it was a big hit at the end of the straight. The Pro Strut is not only the most adjustable front end, but now it it among the most durable. Good to see other car brands now jumping on the bandwagon and putting the Pro Strut front end on their car.
We have 2 or 3 brushless cars competiting against the brushed. On our test track (small track) the 18.5 is very close to a 27 turn stock brushed motor. A scary 3.45" rollout (48 pinion /76 spur) is required to get the 18.5 on pace with a stock motor. While the stock X-pod is great for brushless, the new prototype Open-X pod is a dream to work with. We are working hard on a Open-X pod kit, unfortunately, it will be a while for production parts.
