HUGE thanks to Team CRC for actually shipping the new kit on the date they said they would. That's very rare in this hobby. 2 day shipping and $15 later I have the kit and going to work all night to get it ready for a local 2-day race this weekend. Just in time!

Well I got my kit today and started building at 3PM by 10PM I had the car on the track running laps! The car car handles just like it should, I think the new front end is awesome. I consider my self a person who can really tune an associated front end and boy is it sure nice not having to do all that work any more. The only thing I had to do to the front end to get it free was to run a drill bit down the upper a-arm holes, once that was done there was no grinding, sanding, polishing, and cutting needed to get it to work. It took a 3 hour front end job an turned it into an hour tops.

Frank we need to talk about how to make this thing work for Oval racing!

EA from what I can tell it will take some getting used to since we will have to pre-load everthing from the bottom if they use a similar but longer king pin.

Yes it will have a longer kingpin. I dont think they have decided just yet to have their own longer/bigger springs made or make a bucket to fit their kingpin and standard springs out there now.

I do know that he is working on the upper blocks to raise the upper arm and to lengthen it as well. The possibilities with this front end are endless

I don't understand why they claim this. Sure, there is a small weight reduction from the minimal carbon fiber top plate, but the full sized aluminum left bulkhead is far heavier than the average left side aluminum bulkhead. To me, it looks heavier than a traditional pod, and looks like there is more weight up high due to the left bulkhead. What am I missing?
James

When I weighed the prototype it was a couple of grams lighter than the old 3.2 rear end (thats including the new rear X-Brace). When I get to work tomorrow I will have to weigh the new production parts and get a new reading. I'll also have to get some measurements of the old left side vs. the new left side. I think you'd be surprized. The old left side is pretty thick aluminum. I'll try to get some numbers up here tomorrow.

BTW Smyka - I've been practicing, look out in Cleveland. I peeled Rambo for the club race win on the last lap tonight. You're next

Does anyone know if the Associated springs will work on the New CRC front end?

Were these sold directly thru CRC only or will hobby shops be getting them this week also?

The fit and finish of the Gen-X is excellent. I'm sure it will drive the same way it went together...

Anyone know what tires come with the kit?

smyka - In the setup up you posted, what side springs should be used?
