Default Gearing

Hey All,
I am making the jump from touring car to 1/12 scale and should have my Gen X by Monday (It would have been here 12 days ago but the postal service didnt pick it up from CRC!). I was just wondering how to gear the Gen X (rollout) for a medium to large carpet track with a 9X1 motor. Any help would be appreciated.

the kit comes with .50mm front springs. in comparison to an associated spring stiffness wise i think it would be a little stiffer than a .020.

I really dont want to sound like an idiot, but are you guys filing the edge of the chassis where the battery sits?? What I mean are where the cells sit in the tray. I have done this on my pro 2 and 3 and didnt know if you need to on the car or not.

Thanks

Just barely round the edges of the slots. Do not take much material off or your cells will drag the track. I just remove the sharp edges to keep it from digging in to the cells on impacts.

So EA since you have been running on of these for a while, can I use any other front springs or just the CRC one's. I would like to use the springs that Murdock is selling.

You can run the Murdock (and old Associated or CRC springs) IF you run the Calandra High-Roller wheels. If you run "normal" wheels you would have to run the new shorter Calandra springs. It's a packaging issue--can't get it all fit inside the regular wheels.
