Next year the Florida State Series is letting Mod run 6 cell at 1500g or 5 cell at 1425g. Most of the guys I know plan on running 5 cell next year.

I will run 5 cell with a Reedy 5 Star (4.5) and a Sphere Comp Touring Edition.

Well, didn't say it is slower.... It gives faster laps, for us also. But it's not so fun. The car don't have "punch".

Let's see in DHI how it feels in racing conditions...

Everybody here in Sweden, who have tested 5 cells, are only happy about it. Incl. 19t and 27t drivers as well. No heat in the equippment, everything last longer, and the cars are more or less as fast as before.

I am also faster with 5cells, and yes, a litle less punch, but still enough IMO!
Very impressive corner speed with those super light weight cars

What is your weight now with 5cells?
I'm currently 1416gr without any light items, it's the car as came with brushed setup.

I'm waiting from TIR ti screws, spool as it seems that xray spool is hard to get, light body and LRP4.5 motor (as I have arleady the esc) to install BL setup.

Is 1350gr feasible?

My MSX weights inn at about 1370gr with AMB and ready to go racing... (1372gr is minimum I think w/Transponder)
I am currently using the Orion/GM Brushless system.

I have really not done anything special to lighten the car, just replaced some screws with alu ones, removed a fan and a heatsink... I even have two top decks on the car

I think the DHI tire-combo weighs app. 30g less than LRP 27R preglued.

Are the Much More tires the same as sorex? since they have the same nr 28/32/36

I don´t know but it looks like it. I do now that the Orion wheels and JB inserts are much lighter that LRP wheels and LRP inserts.

Good for me because the Stallion is one heavy machinery with 5 cells...
