Guys, changing 12th scale to 4 cells was also a pretty bold move back in the day, but what do we see now? That class stayed alive even though touring came, and now it grows...

Interesting rule!
After all, the extensive testing done with 5-cells by the various ESC, motor, car manufacturers, and drivers, as well as the real world testing done at race meetings, proved that 5-cells will solve all problems.
And running 5-cells will align EFRA with the rest of the World and unify TC racing.

but, you could fill the 6th slot completely with your balance weights or something :P
thank god my local track has its own rules and regulations in mod racing. no motor limit, just 6cell nimh or ni-cd thats all. oh offcorse the normal rules like trackwidth spoiler size etc etc. one bummer, no traction controll allowed
but i can live with it...

Must admit i didn't see that coming. I personally thought that the German/EFRA exec proposal proposal of 4 cell would get passed.
However, everyone that i have spoken too that has tested 4 cell didn't like it. I think 5 might actually work out ok.

I could just about get my car down to the Japanese weight of 1375g for 4 cell with 1350g. No way will I be able to get anywhere it with 5 cell. Where was the joined up thinking in that one? Take one cell off the car but two cells weight!!
We had already tried that idea in testing and it just wasn't going to achieve anything! Even Bob who had proposed the idea had decided to withdraw it.
That is the least of it, as you might as well throw away your brushed mod motors now.
Right now there is probably a man in China unhappily ditching his 5v Lipo and starting on a 6v

Japan went 4-cell and the rest are 6-cell.
Oh well, Roar and the rest of the World can get to see if that was the right decision.

The only 4 cell for me is 12th scale!!! Gotta wait and see what Roar does now. My LHS loosely follows Roar rules but I don't think you're going to get us to switch to 5 cell.... Now I need 6 cells for my Stadium Truck, 4 Cells for 12th and then 5 cells for TC? Don't think so....
