When you say you you get destroyed by the other guys running the Komodo 2, are you running the same type of batteries as they are? Is your drive train as free as theirs is? Are you running the same or equivalent settings on your speedo as they are? Are you running the correct gearing for the track? Etc. Ect. Ect.

For shorter - more techincal track, try copper springs, Infinity brushes and a 30 - 31 mm rollout. For a larger, sweeping track, switch to silver springs. The motor holds-up well with KD's at my track.

Brian, you COX! HaHa. Got that 007 built yet? Oh wait its not Tuesday yet. I was gearing Jeremy's CP19 last week around 29.2mm Rollout, Atlas Brushes, Medium Springs, but i suggest Silver springs for our TRC Track.

Jeremy looked at me and asked me what i did after his race. now only if he didnt drive it like a boob, he coulda kept up/passed O.V.

Tootles!

Ben

PM me some time/or if ya gots questions. I might run Jeremy's T2 couple races next week, race stock sedan with it or 19. LOL he can race 19 turn, ill race stock with it

Hey Steve! Ive been meaning to call ya since i moved away, been working 12-14 hour days, it sucks!

But, yes, run the same rollout, maybe even more because you know how gary likes to run a more open track for the Novice/Stock Truck Racers, I would start at 29.5+ rollout, Jabber got the Team Tamale motor fan mount, if you decide to get that one also and put dual fans on your motors, you could be up in the 30-31mm rolloutbaby!

You really want to have it top out about 2/3rds down the back straight-a-way there. dont wanna over gear and not have the infield punch, but for you, stepping up to 19 turn from stock is a huge differnce! Get some good packs!

Talk at ya laters, ill give ya a call soon some time. Shoot the B.S. with ya.

Ben!

My track which is medium sized, medium grip carpet that is flowing with a technical infield. I have two Checkpoint's one off the shelf and one Br00d tuned. The rollout for them are 32.25 and 33. They both come off the track at about 160 degrees. The average rollout for the KD at my track is 25 to 28. Most people who are not getting good performance out of the Checkpoints are not gearing up far enough.

Impulse_racer - Your absolutley right, people are afraid to gear high. I can tell you this.... CP19's are a torqy motor, so you gotta compisate with a higher rollout, KD19's have alittle more rpm, so ya gota gear down some.

At our track, KD19's are at about 26.5-27mm rollout, Cp19's about 29.00+mm rollout.

Cheers!

Ben

Circumference of tyre (pye x diameter) divided by Spur/Pinion.

Of course, roll out is distance travelled by one revolution of the motor.

Here, this is simpler lol

(3.14 X Tire Diameter) / ((Spur/Pinion) X Internal Gear Ratio) = Rollout!

Example

(3.14 X 58.00) / ((84/22) X 1.70 = 28.05mm Rollout

I hate calculating in inches, metric is better for this

Impulse's car is setup for a lot of corner speed with a one-way up front. So a CP equipped front diff car may need to run slightly less rollout between 30 and 32.
