Default Your favorite charger

What's everyone's favorite charger at the moment? I've read a LOT of threads, seems the CTX sounds like a good one, ICE for budget and features, ICC for new cool points, but no one had any good objective results. I know it's a subjective feel, seems like everything that's better "just gives more punch", I am not buying $100 each packs so should I even be all that concerned? I will be running IB4200's from fusion, 19t probably the Checkpoint 19t, foam carpet.

I've got the MuchMore Cell Master, Orion Advantage, and Duratrax ICE. All do a good job of charging up my IB4200's. All have step charge, multiple profiles, delayed charge, yada yada yada. The Cell Master does not have a motor break-in function, but otherwise they are all very similar.

The display and functionality on the ICE is the best of the 3. The temp sensor that comes with the Orion is awesome.

Given that they are all similar, but the ICE and Orion have the addition of the break in, I would say that I probably favor those two. For just charging, I can't say I find any appreciable difference in charge quality between any of those units.

Duratrax ICE for me personally. I charge a bunch of different batteries (4-6cell 3300, 3700, 3800 NiMh and a MaxAmps 6000 LiPo) and run motors in on it. Love it. I want to get the backlit mod for the screen, but other then that, I can't imagine not having it. It's also easy to make different charging pig tails for various connectors and batteries and such.

I am still using my Pulsar Comp 1's and 2. They charge my 38 four cells and 42 six cell packs just fine. Plus I can run in motors as well as run my motor lathe from them. Small, lots of features for the size and cost I like them. I am sure the others are better and have been looking at a GFX purchase, but have issues parting with that much money.

I own a Turbo 35 GFX, Reddy Quasar Pro and a Duratrax Ice... I'm looking to get another Ice.... If the Ice could discharge at 30 amps I'd get rid of the T35...

I love the Ice. The graphing screen, 8A charge, 10A discharge, and motor breakin are simply awesome.

thanks for the info, I assume the same goes for discharging? my buddy has a trick for getting a cheap 30a draw, so really I could just use an equalizing tray after I get the volts down.

Oh I have no issues parting with the money needed to go to IIC!! Hey Bill, we are getting a carpet track here finally. I guess that means I may have to change my slogan.

Another vote for the Ice. Does it all at a fraction of other high end chargers.

Supernova Competition, basically an ICE with 20A discharge, backlit screen and temp sensor for about $15 more than the ICE
