Default Looking for Bolink's Steve Rule

Steve Rule was the previous president of Bolink (I think). On August 8th, I sent him a payment for a 1/12th scale body mold. However, he never sent it. The only communication I have had with him is through email, and over the last 2 months, he's been ignoring mine. Apparently, he has done this to many other people too, so I would advise caution when dealing with him. It's looking more and more like I have lost my $100 paypal payment.

Does anyone have any suggestions or contact info for Steve (other than his email on his BigDaddysHobbies website)?

I am pretty sure Paypal won't help him out with that unless the item was purchased through an auction (on eBay).

I talked to the current Bolink owner, and he said Steve was legally allowed to sell the old molds he has.

Paypal will let you file a complaint - and ultimately get your money back - whether its thru ebay or not...I've had first hand experience and normally the situation is resolved inside of 7 days...especially if the other party does not respond to email

Either way it sucks that he didn't deliver what was promised, personal problems or not..

Well, I was too lenient with Steve's lack of communication. And now I can't go through PayPal since it's been over 45 days.

i think murdock r/c bought the oval body molds and maybe a few other things from the bolink /racetech family. he might give you an avenue for communication. he advertises on hobbytalk.

i can remember someone else getting burned a while back. don't know how that deal came out.

good luck

Actually extreme never bought anything from steve.. Steve conracted extreme to cut out the newer racetch g force car, and the legends stuff.. steve said the guy who owns, extreme took it upon himself to start selling thee stuff.. there was a very heated debate on hobbytalk about it.. Steve is the only one who has the rights from the legends organisation to produce the cars.. Just like car companies get paid for every body that gets sold bearing a real cars name.. Steve told me the guy at extreme claimed he had the rights as well, but never got approved.. this is what i read on a thread involving steve, and what he told me personally.. the bolink legends name was bought by a different mom and pop company last year, and it was not extreme..

In all fairness to Steve, it was important that I updated this thread because the mold was finally shipped to me. After inquiring what the reason was for failure to ship and lack of communication, he replied that he had been on the road most of the time during the last 6-8 weeks.

If he was truly away for most of the time during 6-8 weeks, it still doesn't cover the first full month after I paid him (12 weeks ago). Nor does it cover the times when he was home. And it does not give a good reason to not reading/responding to my emails (other people I talked with have been in communication with him during the last 3 months). And finally, in his last email, there was no professional courtesy of an apology either. I would advise caution when purchasing from him.
