You look at Region 2 and they've got an electric off-road series, a couple of region championships and more. Why, because they have an active region director that is promoting ROAR, getting tracks on-board and getting them to host races. If you think that a region director is just a just a guy with a rubber stamp to approve sanctioned events in his region then you're probably in one of those regions that have few if any ROAR events.
Pardon my hijacking of the thread. Well, from what I have seen in my Region which is Region 9, it can go both ways as far as pointing fingers for having a regional championships. Yes, I agree it is the regional directors job to promote these events, but if the hosting tracks in the past have gotten burned and turned off of hosting such event due to drivers bad mouthing the track, since it is the only track that has held it for many years ,and no one else has stepped up to the plate to take on such resposibilities due to the fact of what has happen in the past. Then it be those participants/drivers that in the past have put a bad taste in in the local tracks mouth to keep from hosting such events. It has been 2 years this year since the last Regional in my area.

Check some history with your fellow board mates.

I skimmed the RD manual I was issued. Nothing in there about promotion. Although I do agree, lazy RD's = bad ROAR presence.

An issue is that ROAR does not have what tracks are looking for to enable the RD to sucessfully promote.

Wild Cherry .... you seem to have a ton of answers. Why not put some of them to good use, step up and help out? Run for Region director, contact your region director and offer assistance, hell contact someone on the Excomm if you have the follow thru for your solutions to all of ROAR's problems. I'd really like to see them. May help me save some time that I can devote to something else and maybe even fix something that you say is broken. And if we used one of your ideas and follow thru we'd be more than happy to give you credit
