In 2004, I ran Touring Stock, 12th 19T Oval, and Expert 19T Oval. I was lucky enough to make the A in all 3 classes. Finished 3rd in Touring Stock, won 12th scale 19T oval, and finished 8th in Expert 19T Oval.
It just takes hard work. I was trashed when I got home though. That was an intense 4 days. My advice, don't go out drinking the day before racing starts.

At vegas this year the days were VERY long with little to no sleep so I think I might be up to the challenge.
Hotel is booked! Lady on the phone knew it was snowbirds as soon as I mentioned the check-in date, very helpful people.

Just take it all in. Don't stress about the racing or you won't have a good time. Bring a camera and drink lots of coffee!

I think the little gift shop in the hotel sells 100 cases of Red Bull the week of our race!
Full schedule should be out next week. Tuesday - Wednesday full days of practice with heats starting Thursday.

Haven't we always started on Friday with Heats?
I guess this means we get an extra qualifier this year!!! sweet, plus no more club races...
Sweet. Looking forward to it again this year.

For those who are thinking of coming to this race...don't think, do it. You will have the best time. There is plenty of time to run 2 or 3 classes(you won't sleep though). I have come to every Snowbirds and it gets better every year. There is something about the atmosphere that makes it the best race. Based on Mike's "hint", having 4 qualifiers instead of 3 is a great move. Another thing I really like about the Birds is that Mike allows much more practice than the average race and it is not all controlled. In Vegas, I only got on the track 4 times in a 13 hour day! At the birds, you can run until you fall asleep. He also sets the schedule up so that there is time to go across the street and eat at Chilis. There are tons of restaurants and things to do around the hotel. Believe me, you will get a bang for your buck!
I will be in Cleveland so I will miss the warm up. That is a nice race too.
Thanks Mike for making the Snowbirds a reality
