Hi Addam,

I just talked to our Motor Artisan and he said the Sp means it is specialized meaning somthing was done differently in the either the wire or how it was wound usually we only have these made for testing or by special request from some of our shops who have a specific need.

How did you aquire this motor?

Hi Mate
I got it from afriend who was sponsored by Orion in oz, It has a plastic type of spiral shim on it near the brush end and the arm is different, It look's nothing like a orion set up.
The one on the left in the pictures is the SP version
Any more help would be great.
Thanks
Addam

The SP is actually a decal we used for our batteries. Sombody on the team may have put that on to remind then that the armature was using a "Hat" the retainer ring around the arm. We do this on some of our motors for different reasons. I would always be weary of used motors as they are usually passed on for a reason.

Out of curiosity, what exactly does that "hat" do?

It keeps the wires from coming off and is also a heatsink.
