I have been looking for this book for about 4 months now and have not found it anywhere for a reasonable price. There are people out there willing to sell it but they want $150.00 or more because they know that it is not being published any longer.

The Amazon link no longer has any. I tried it about a month ago and I got a reply saying the book was out of print and was no longer available.

There is someone in our club that knows a worker at Stafford Publishing who publishes the book. He is trying to get some more printed but the minimum number that needs to be printed is quite high.

the book was good..... about 10 years ago. There was nothing in the book that will help you tune todays motors. Save the money, and spend it on a brush hood alignment tool. You can search the forums for BigJim's threads, in fact that is what the book is albout. It is just a copy of posts from his forum.

GOD rest his soul, BigJim was a pioneer, but the technology of todays motors were not covered in the book

If you must have one, then by all means buy it.... I did and sold it a month later.....

sorry to bust your bubble, but it's the truth

I hate to start a debate, but I have to disagree...

Motor technology has evolved, but BRUSHED motors haven't changed THAT much... ROAR rules still prevent exotic magnets, motors still depend on brush/spring combinations for tuning, etc...

SPECIFIC tips for different motors ARE a bit outdated, but the MVP tips still apply to the MVP and the TOP CORE Stock motors. The Monsters tune very similar to the GM3's... The CO27's tune very similar to the P2K2's...

Tips for mod motors (timing, etc.) are still pretty good...

The book was always a bit limited in some areas, but I still feel it was worth my money, and I've been tuning motors since I built my first dyno in 1989...

in my opinion it just depend on how experienced you are.. if you are right there in speed with the fast guys you dont need the book if you are a newbie you might. i had the book for a week and cant say i learned a thing.. i like the one issue of xtreme rc cars where they do a column with eric anderson thats probally the shorten and better version of tuning motors. it was like three months ago the issue. lots and lots of variables in racing beside the motor. and if you want it also put a a post or a search on the for sale forum thats where i got mine and there were a few up recently.
