What mm wheels and tires do I want for carpet?

Hello,

I went to purchase foam tires for carpet racing and noticed there are 24mm, 26mm and 30 mm tires......can anyone tell me what width do I want? Thanks

Most carpet-specific tyres these days are 28mm. The 26 and 30 you have seen are probably outdoor "nitro" foams, which are do still work on carpet.

24mm are probably carpet foams, possibly slightly older stock as I don't know who is making them this wide any more. Easier to fit on your car in general, probably a shade less grip.

28mm foams are the standard, but Jaco has released a new foam tire that is 26mm. I hear that these were the hot ticket in Vegas.

Parma and Jaco are the two big names in foam tires for carpet. So tires from one of these two should be fine.

Later, :)

You would not want to run "nitro" fronts on carpet, only the rears. Nitro fronts are constructed diferently than normal foam tires used on carpet.

Parma, Jaco, TRC, and BSR are the tires most people use on carpet.
