Switch Blade, I do not recommend getting the novak with the black box. The black box only puts out 4.5 amps, which if you're even half-way serious about going fast is not enough. 4.5 amps will take about 45 mins to charge a 3000 pack. A 5-6 amp charge rate is preferable for most club racing.

The GM Vis is over $300 and is DC only. If you're gonna be in it for the long haul i recommend going with a Rivergate Bulldog 15 amp. You can get one directly from Rivergate for under $100. That is one of the best values in power supplies you can get. Their site is www.rivergatedist.com . I have their 30 amp supply and i love it. If you're going with the Pulsar get a power supply from rivergate or integy. Another option you could look into is the Reedy Quasar pro. That is AC/DC and is $169.99 most places.

LRP: http://www.lrp-electronic.com/ ->Products->Chargers

It's a little expensive.

However, that Rivergate thing sounds very interesting...

Usually you dont have to pay for them. Just lay your hands on an old computer, tear it apart and take out the PS unit. Then you just have to buy some resistors. I did my conversion for around 5$, including an control LED, to tell if it's turned on ! I've tested it for delivering 10 amps. Probably it will also do 15, though I haven't tested it.

Default LRP Pulsar Competition

I have a question concerning the charger and charging batteries. When i charge the 3300 promatch gps i get about 3200 maH. I let them cool and then charge again and it chargers for about another 5 mins adding about 200-500 more mah. ALso when charging at 5 amps 20mv delta peak the batts are pretty warm about 123-157F. I though 5 amps was fine and it would get hot. Also on discharge the batts go down to 5.4 then when it stops the voltages goes to 7.4 volts. Wuts up with that

Warlord: You may want to read the FAQ on the promatch site. Good info on batteries there that Jeff wrote. Jeff Rowe PMR and Danny Sullivian SMC are the best around for batteries.

I am getting my pulsar this weekend, I needed a power supply and was searching and found a guy talking about this one.

Radio Shack
13.8VDC-25 AMP Switching Power Supply for $60.00.

There on sale. 50% off normally $115.
Same as the Samlex SEC 1223.
Part # 22-510.

Myself and a friend both have bought one. 25 amps for right around $63 with tax is very nice!!!
