The car will look similar to the one seen at Cleveland.
I heard HPI hired the design engineers that help develope the Tamiya EVO-III.
and yes..it will have a sealed gearbox.
Shock layout will be similar to the Barracuda.

Default marketing lesson

I don't know how much hundred of pages we will write before the car is released, but HPI will have made us talk enough to make lot of us buying this chassis (or at least being interested)
I was suprised hpi officially announced the car 6 month before releasing it (during those 6 month they will sell 0 pro3, few people were still buying it before ) but now they will be sure a lot of people will buy it before knowing what it really worths...

(sorry for my wacky english )

The Pro 3 has been discontinued, so no one will be able to buy it in the intervening time. Also, there is nothing to say "6 months until release", the press release simply says it should be available before the end of the year.

im just wondering if hpi will get it right this time that pro 3 was the most $$$$$ i have ever had to spend on a car to get it right i think me and rc zombies had the 2 most costly pro3's in the states im looking forward to see what they do . if its a clone of the tc3 or the cuda i just hope its all in one box and parts are easier to get this time and are here in the states the same time they are in hong kong and japan. boy i sent the money to both japan and hong kong

i am a little bit doubtful about hpi, cos i am not a fan of this brand and now i just own hpi cars (2 mini rs4, one micro, and one f1)!!!do they spread hidden messages trough their site and guess what perhaps my next car will be an hpi too....very strange( i said 6 months cos i don t want to wait more!)

Dear Frank,

The reason why some people said PRO 4 is coming out within 6 months because in the RC World Magazine. Hara told them that HPI Japan is planning to release PRO 4 in July or August of this year.

I hope it comes soon I really want to test drive it and need a SHAFT! Oh well, maybe a Tc3 would do me some good. Rc-zombies sure did spend a lot!

Frank,
Stop all breaks and up the overtime I need it for the Dallas race in March! If not, I'll still have my fully hopped up Pro 3. The boys from the Mississippi Gulf Coast will be making a trip to another challenge race, so run and hide now.......heheh.......Just wish one year we could get one closer ....... but hey ...... what else does someone from Mississippi have to do

Frank thanks for the information. It is great when companies come to the racers and give the info. I think the new HPI car will rock. I would guess the car will be popular if it can do what all other popular cars do, go fast and last through a few hits. Will be fun to see HPI back in the game!

Keep us updated Frank!

Jeff

I really enjoyed myu pro 3 once I got the right hop ups and a good setup on it. It worked awesoem every time I dorve it. It seems to liek asphalt a bti better though. I'm looking very forward to the new pro 4. I'm sure the guys at HPI will create yet another good quality kit.

I really liked my Pro 3 too, raced it all of last year, percerviered and had it hopped up to Hara like specs $$$$ I just replaced it with an EVO 2 XRay and whaddya know...I was a full second quicker a lap last weekend on the first meeting out once I sorted the setup...

Ah well...its only money

Good luck with the Pro 4 fellas...me...I've converted elsewhere

On www.hpiracing.com, the Pro3 figures as a kit in production; That is, it aint moved to discontinued kits. Not that I doubt you, but I think HPI sometimes sends confusing signals, which aint attracting people.

hmmm...i have gone from looking for a reason to get a pro4 to looking for a reason NOT to get a pro4.
but i think if HPI releases something like an EVO3..all bells and whistles and STILL have the guts to price it like a Hara edition..well u know what'll happen then.
their cars are great..the designers are quite forward thinking but the businessmen in there is screwing things up.

There's a lot of hate in this thread. Bummer.
